Morrie's gets around $500 (less with the MNSub discount!) for the 120k service for my 97 Outback. Is this something I should just pony up for, or are there better maintenance things I could spend my $500 on? Does anyone have a list of what they do? I definitely want to keep this car as long as possible, so taking good care of it is a priority. I don't mind spending the money as long as it's not wasted. Understand that I like learning about cars about 10x as much as I like working on them because I don't have many car tools or know-how...yet. Reid
Check your owner manual, it should say what needs to inspect or replace. Speaking of which I am due for a 60,000 tune up soon.
<<knock wood>> No bubbles in the overflow yet or other type of goop. Hasn't overheated since I got it. REALLY hoping I got one of the good Ph1 EJ25s. Been an awesome car since I got it. If the head gaskets do go, I'll probably get them replaced. I like the car too much. Reid
they almost will go for sure, but they have a quad layer steel gasket now...they wont ever blow again
dude, just do it yourself or have one of us help you for dinner or something. shall we have a 100K+ mile maintenance day? i need to do the same things as you.
