Cedar Falls Raceway in Iowa is having a drag day and I just got a call from one of my buddys and I guess theres a blue 02 WRX that ran 13.8 completely STOCK.

he said it has stock exhaust and sounds really quiet and told me that he cant spot mods under the hood (they could be hidden to the untrained eye)

    b.s.?

Im pretty sure IF it is true, it has to be some sort of record.

Hmmm...take a pic of his engine bay and underneath the car...Hard to believe, but anything is possible...13.8 that is what a STi gets with a decent/good driver. 13.5 is what Subaru claims. Also it could be installed with a cobb stage 1 and the wrx can still look all stock. But I still doubt that 30hp will drop your time that dramatically...Maybe .4-.6 tops...Stock WRX is 14.5

Just got back from fun day in Wisconsin and my best time was 13.74 in an STi with an N1 exhaust an K&N intake.

Yeah I had a few people confirm that it was stock to the look. No exhaust or raspy sounds...had stock head shield ect...

only thing I can think of would be a tuned ecu and or up pipe...

Car and Driver got the Forester XT to run a 13.8 bone stock, but on an 02 rex seems a bit more far fetched.

No matter how unbelievable the 02 WRX had, I that's an awesome time considering it's stock.

2fast4u, congrats on the run. Got a slip or your run in detail?

From what I hear about the stock STi's running at the dragstrip, I'm starting to think that 13.6 for a stock STi is the norm and not 13.3 like on the magazines. Good run none-the-less. I would like to visit the Rock once again and see what each car gets. :D

you guys should see the small car scene in Australia.. it would blow you wads to see half of what runs down the track and believe me.. a lot of them are daily drivers and would scare the STi's on here

i ran 13.9 in my 2002 WRX a year ago. only mod was a downpipe at the time. Highly doubt he is stock:bs: , i had to drive the hell out of it to get a 13.9, which was considered very fast for my amount of mods.
