I had a conversation with a 16 WRX owner at my former employers Brooklyn Park location in August. He mentioned that he had purchased an Access Port, from a local shop, that included a custom map that he spoke highly of and was pleased with the performance he gained . I've forgotten the name of the shop and am wondering if this resonates with anyone. If so, could you let me the name of the shop and any other thoughts you have regarding using the Access Port w/2015 WRX. Thx
Modern Automotive Performance offers their OTS tune for free when you purchase an Accesport from them. I got a protune from them on my '15 WRX and am very happy with the results. https://www.maperformance.com/colle...-sti-accessport-v3-by-cobb-tuning-ap3-sub-004
Thanks, are you still running 91 octane with the protune? Any change in MPG? I appreciate your response. Thanks again.
I currently run 92. They also made me a map for 91. My MPG actually improved by a few. I regularly get mid 30's cruising on the highway.
Thanks for the quick response. I must be missing something : when I "click here" for the 91 octane (from the MAP site) info it navigates me to the NASIOC site which contains anecdotal info., vague charts and no specific whp/wtq metrics. What am I mot seeing? MAP Pro Tune vs Cobb Stage 1-93 Octane: 34whp/49wtq total gains over stock: 59whp/53wtq 91 Octane also available, Click Here for info Thx
If you navigate to their page about the actual stage 1 tune, these are the numbers they list: Features 91 Octane 252whp 278wtq 93 Octane 268whp 295wtq +34whp/49wtq vs Cobb Stage w/ 93 Octane https://www.maperformance.com/colle...ots-tune-maperformance-stage-1-map-wrx-4g-ots I believe the stock tune developed 222HP and 265TQ. I bought my AP from them and got the 91 tune. Ian was great to work with and he was very good about answering all my questions about the tune, my car, what to expect, etc. I really like the linear pedal feel and the greater control I have over throttle and boost. Makes driving a lot smoother and more fun. You do end up losing the mid range punch the stock tune has, but now the car pulls all the way to redline and not just gassing out at 5000rpm. I plan on keeping the drivetrain stock for the most part and I honestly think the AP and a good tune are two of the best first mods for the money.
