do you have an auto? torque converters is the method through which the power is transmitted from the engine to the wheels on an automatic transmission. people who want to increase performance of their auto to be able to launch better they will modify their TC for a higher stall.

I used to have one of those momo's, exact kind, 10" though. I love it, I got them for $80 used with encloser, I will get them back again.
