Just purchased this thing. Actually, I bought it and a 1969 model as a parts car. These are from the auction, but myself and Mike Wray are picking it up in a couple weeks from Chicago.
wow, thats a beautiful car. Very classic looking. Looks like its in a great shape. what auction did you get it at?
Jason, that's awesome. Let me know if you need any help with it, I know a little bit from my 260Z days. Nice find!
eBay. Picked it and the 69 parts car up for 2500 bucks. Oh boy, I'm going to definately be picking your brain a little. Yes, the rear bars are more than likely white PVC. The rest of the main hoop is in question, hard to say. The top was wierd, but it looks more like a for sale sign now. Doesn't matter really, I'm going to find a nice new Autopower bar or something.
Yeah, there is very little surface rust on it, that and the interior is in good shape. There is some rust on the frame, but that's what the 69 parts car is for
I had no idea what an SR20 was so Google gave me this. Look forward to seeing the project take shape.
Also this. That is a beatifully done datsun. I'm planning on using similar wheels to what that 510 has.
yea lmk if you need any sr help. having swapped and extensively modified one for several years I still know a thing or two about them
The plan is to run a SR20 redtop with a GT2860RS. I want the redtop because I don't really want to **** with avcs, or whatever it is nissan calls it.
Yep, after some thinking I decided that it was time to delve into a different power plant and subarus aren't cheap to work on. Plus, I miss working on my buddie's old bug, and Mike Wray's recent car got me back into the mindset of older cars.
When i'm done with old domestics, nissan or mazda is probably the route ide go for old imports....i love you jayyyyyyyyyson
Psssh. Maybe I'll blaspheme a little and paint my rice rocket British Racing Green with a white stripe or two. Oh wait, I have all my teeth, so no I wont.
Zen and the art of car project completion. I think I'm going to do this one But I would accept any assistance you could give.
At first glance it would appear our loyal President has a change in heart. But if you were to look very closely you would see something that would appear to be a hood scoop, well at least in my eyes. Which ever the case maybe, I welcome your interest in Nissan's as I have recently done the same. If given the opportunity I'd gladly show her around one of our local friendly tracks. I could see a great photo opportunity with both our cars. Edited: So what did mr. Wray get recently that sparked your interest? -Cheech And of course Congrat's!
Just a quick LOL worthy update...I pick the cars up tomorrow, so I gave GEICO a call. The Datsun raises my premium per month 10 bucks, lol.
