Reposting this from the Rochester craigslist I just put it on:

I am selling my 1985 Kawasaki Vulcan 750. I have ridden it for the last 3 years as my first bike and want to sell as I bought a newer sport bike to ride. It has been very well maintained (with receipts) by myself. It currently has 19,485 miles on the odometer, but won't likely get many more as I bought another sport bike to replace it.

Previous owner replaced the 700cc motor with the 750cc motor as the 700cc motor spun a bearing. Normally '85s have a 700cc. The bike is titled in my name with the new motor.

Maintenance that has been done by me:
-yearly oil/filter changes at the beginning of every season I have had it (usually only put about 2k miles on it all year riding to work)
    -new front brake fluid
-new front/rear Metzeler ME880 tires, tires have about 3k miles on them, showing ~5/32 depth on front and ~7/32 depth on the rear tire
    -NGK iridium spark plugs
-Rear splines lubbed with Honda Moly60 grease last season
-Rear gear oil replaced with Mobil 1 synth last season
-Maintenance free AGM battery in 2009
-Front forks completely rebuilt with all new seals and fork oil
    -Engine oil filter screen replaced
-All electrical connections have been cleaned and greased with dielectric grease
-Carbs cleaned this spring (2012), and rebalanced (see picture of manometer, they're spot on)

    Cosmetic/preventative things done by me:
-Bike has been "coastered" (exhaust EGR reed valves blocked off as preventative maintenance)
-"Goats belly" removed and straight piped, and muffler baffles drilled out
    -Lower set of handlebars installed

Things that will come with the bike if you want them:
-Front windscreen/fairing designed for use with the stock handlebars
    -Stock handlebars
    -"goats belly"
-a large rubbermaid tub full of spare electronic/mechanical parts that I received from the previous owner from when he did the motor swap from the donor bike, including a spare stator, handlebar controls, radiator fan, R/R, exhaust pipes, and MANY more items

    Quirks:
-Gas gauge works erratically, the connector comes unseated and shows "Empty"
-The rear tool kit box lock broke and fell out while I was riding one day, it is currently held shut with a piece of duct tape.
-The speedometer will squeel a little if you ride below ~40-45*

As you can tell the bike has been well cared for and is literally ready to ride home. It doesn't leak any oil and it gets a religious 40mpg in town. If you are looking for some cheap summer fun, look no further. If you want to ride it, you will need to put cash in my hand and show me your permit first, otherwise I will be happy to fire it up and ride it around in front of you.

Please call/text my cell phone at (seven oh four) - six oh four - four seven oh two if you want to come out and see it, or PM me here on the MNsubaru board. Looking to get 1300/OBO for it, reasonable offers considered.
