I know this is my first post here, but i thought i should sell this to someone that will take care of it, and i know this is where the car originally came from. So with that im hoping you all dont get mad that my first post is a for sale thread, as the only reason for that is that i respect this car, and it should be cared for by someone that knows what it is. 1991 Subaru Legacy Turbo ---- 5spd 174xxx miles Black Grey cloth and suede interior The good: Hks down pipe Drives good Auto meter boost gauge JVC CD player with ipod hookup, and remote Glass is good Power windows work Good tires Oil just changed coolant just changed new lower rad hose Tranny shifts good Heater works good Tires have great tread left Bad: Rust around wheel wells Idles rough, but keeps running Muffler is bad, comes with a new one Needs a front passenger side strut clear coat peeling on hood Also comes with: Hks turbo timer WRX intercooler WRX muffler WRX hood scoop I think the reason for the rough idle is a leak in the charge piping. When it makes higher boost levels, as in over 5 it feels like it has a boost leak, and the motor goes and so does the turbo, but it doesnt take off like it should. This also explains the idle problem because in vaccume a leak would be pulling in unmetered air. Also adding to the evidence that the idle problem comes from a boost leak is that when the wrx intercooler was on the car, with different chargepiping, it went away, and the car felt much faster. When this was for sale here before it had a leaky therostate that leaked on the exhaust. Now that is fixed with a new lower rad hose. All fluids were changed last weekend and it is good to go. To this cars credit, it started right up this morning and idled fine, and it was something like -20 here this morning. I bought this only so id have something to drive while i found a Jeep that i wanted, i found a Jeep so now i need to sell this to get that otherwise i would be keeping this.
