1998 2.5 RS 250k on odo, RS built motor and AT at 210K. Very solid, reliable running car. body has some minor rust, scratches, dings and paint fading. hood and front fenders repainted within last 2 years. interior in ok shape, front drivers seat has a hole in it. 2 sets of wheels and tires. oem 16 gold wheels with general altimax snow tires mounted on them, still good tread life. 17 enike wheels with conti pro contact ssr tires with very little tread on them. both sets of wheels have lots of curb rash and chips. full coilovers. car is lowered. catback exhaust. i have several spare parts including new parts that have not been put on yet. this was going to be a race car project but we have decided to go in a different direction. i have had this car since 2000 at 30k miles and i have loved it like a child. Ask any questions you want. i work in the automotive industry and have taken very good care of car. i am asking $9000. it is currently in storage a few miles from my home. price drop to $5000
I've been kind of looking for a decent RS for a bit now. No offence, the car looks quite clean, but 9k with 250k miles? Was that a WRX swap that RS did to it at 210k miles? Any rust in the rear quarters?
it was not a wrx swap however the cylinders were bored and had forged pistons installed. the transmission was completely rebuilt and a 3300rpm stall converter installed. the engine was fully rebuilt. As far as the 9k, gotta start somewhere right?
What was your reasoning behind installing forged pistons? That's obviously reflected in your asking price. Anyway, I had a '99 RS back in the day and loved it. GLWS.
I would re-analyze your pricing, seriously. This is an auto trans with 250k on the body. RS cars are not selling for what they used to, especially when you factor in auto trans and body issues. Nice RS with manuals and turbos OR extra super clean body will go for around $7,000 on a good day. The prices start to fall rapidly if they don't check those boxes as yours does not. The rebuilt engine is worth less than a great body. A perfect body and you can ask through the roof for pricing (through the roof would be about $9,000), but as it sits the car is about HALF what you're asking. This is based on all the similar cars for sale on local forums/craigslist over the last 3+ years. I'm not complaining to you or anything like that. I'm just telling you what your expectations might be. A car (or anything else) is always only worth what someone else will pay for it. Please take that info for what it's worth.
https://mnsubaru.com/threads/f-s-1998-2-5rs.49093/ So you sold a car that you still have. The price has also increased by almost double. Very interesting.....
Saw your post on the MNSubiez FS page and I see that you still haven't changed the price. GLWS I guess
The thead that was linked was from several months ago. In that thread she indicated it was sold then. Thats what the poster was getting at.
Even $6k is a bit steep for the type of car she's selling, but still. At least it'd be a better starting price than $9k.
im currently working with this page to change it, i could give a **** less about the FB site lol. I am dropping it down to $5000 obo, i know this is a more realistic number and talking with the hubby, id just like to have it sold asap. its just costing us money sitting in storage. let me know if you know anyone interested.
The old post i had up i decided to not sell it and didnt know how to take it down, so i said it was gone. now i do want to sell it and i know the original asking price was way higher than i would get, but i figured ya need to start somewhere. i am dropping it to a more realistic price, the same as posted before. the sooner i can sell it, the better. make me a realistic offer and the highest offer will take it home.
