I guess I'll go ahead and create a for sale thread just to see what kinda interest there is.

I've got a 1998 Impreza 2.5rs for sale. The motor locked up on me a couple months back on my way to Devils Lake...So the motor is shot but the tranny is still good. I had the HG's and timing belt replaced when I first bought the car about a year ago and I'm guessing that the guy who did the work never machined the heads which eventually caused coolant to mix in with the oil and cause the motor to lock up. The motor is shot, but the timing belt looks brand new and could definitely be used on a diff motor. The overall interior is in great shape with brand new floor mats as well as a crappy set for winter.

    160,xxx miles
    5 speed tranny shifts great
wrx hubs/roters/calipers/control arms with new lifetime warranty brake pads
Exedy oem replacement clutch with under 3000 miles
    Magnaflow exhaust
    Hella fogs
    Optional alarm/security system

Asking $2500 obo. I'm not really in much of a hurry to sell it at this point, but if anybody is interested or has any questions feel free to post up or pm me. I'm on here way too often, so I'll most likely respond pretty quickly. :)

Is that a promise? lol because I would love to see somebody actually swap this as I don't quite have the balls...or the time lol.

p.s. I just realized there's a little yellow thing on the steering coloum in the last pic. That's just a silly fake flower thing that my friend threw in there to be dumb. It's garbage now. Just wanted to clarify that the interior is mmmm mmmm clean :)

Yea I guess I'd still be interested in fixing it if I found a good deal on a motor. I'm a pretty indecisive person, so I could be swayed to not sell this car and just fix it very easily haha.

Bubba you say this in like EVERY for sale thread lol. I'm not gunna part out this car.

pm sent but what kinda details would you like?

Don't worry, there will be no parting out of this car :) I've yet to see another one this color in person.

The numbers I've found say that only 150 were ever imported.

I've yet to find any real reliable numbers, but everybody can agree that they are very uncommon.

Bad price for the rarest Impreza imported into the US ever?

Raise the price by two grand and post it on NASIOC. I would....

I'm still keepin my eyes out for another stock motor to swap in, and if that happens I'm keepin it. I've also got plenty of ppl trying to talk me into swapping it, which may also happen if I find a cheap donor car for sale. Basically what I'm saying is this car may or may not be for sale for very long.

I can also arrange to drop the car off for you if you'd like. I have a couple buddies with big trucks and trailors who wouldn't mind trailoring the car for a small fee.

I'd rather buy a donor car than try to piece everything together. I know what he's got and the motor needs some work if I recall.

i don't think it's that rare, it's just other two door rs.
i think HiImBrian should just swap it out then selling it.

I've never seen another one this color, and to some people that's a big deal, but I'm not going to try and talk that aspect of the car up too much. I already said that if I find a decent price on a wrx swap or another ej25 then I'm keepin the car.

Thanks man I really appreciate it. Like I said before though, if I find a motor I'll keep it, otherwise it's listed and if it goes then I guess it goes. If I sell this I'll buy a cheap wrx, but I'd rather just find a wrecked wrx and swap it or just throw in another stock 2.5. We'll see I guess.

jdmenginedepot.com = cheap jdm ej25d motor with low miles
tigerjapanese.com = even cheaper jdm ej25d motor with even fewer miles

I bought a motor today so I'll no longer be selling my rs. Instead, I plan on pickin up a set of new perrin endlinks to go with my adjustable rsw and new shifter bushings. Hopefully I make it to at least one autox event this summer, if not then snowcross ftw.
