for all those in school theres only like 2.5 weeks left in the semster! I have like 8 billion assignments/exams/papers/presentations to do. who else is not going to be sleeping for the next 2 weeks?
and it shows anyway...this semester inst as bad as the past one which is surprising since it's my senior year!
I did school, hated my job and went back to school. Makes you like school again to work in a crap job for a few years.
Im having a bitch of a time trying to get all my stuff done for class. I went from a huge school last yeah at the University of Utah where all i had to do was go to class and then review notes and i got a B to and an A. Now that im at St. Thomas im kicking my self in the nuts for not reading any of my books. This whole class participation thing ive been dealing with for the last few months has been killing me too. I've had two classes in the past two years, not counting this one, that had under 30 students. Now all my classes are that way. Also this whole Theology thing has got to go. I had enough bible learning when i was a catholic school till 7th grade. Well now i have to get back to my theology paper thats due in 2 hour that i havnt been able to start for the life of me. <end rant>
have fun with it. I'm assuming your in the first level theology, if that's the case you still have 2 more semesters after that. I think its crap too, I have to spend $3500 a class and they make you take 3 semesters of theology, that's over $10k in classes I don't want to take on learning fiction...
I go to St. Thomas too, and just finished my last Theo class in the spring of last year. I'm officially done with my core cirriculum! Now I have to do my stupid Bus200 project and I'm in my gym class right now! Oh, and it's dumb that I need 84 credits outside the school of business to graduate...I would be fine to graduate with just four classes next semester for my double major; but nooooooooo make me take 1 more random class in order to graduate. So now I'm in into to Psych over J-term I think that's all I have to rant about right now...
same crap here, I'm only a few credits away from a completed core, but then have to take like 3 more electives, which st. thomas really doesn't have but can't take them anywhere besides here to keep my senior residency requirement to standard. Its retarded. Not quite sure what I'll do. I registered on time this year, no more 8am or 3pm classes for me lols...
ok so .. no st thomas for me .. obviously. i should go back to school though. It would take my mind off of work, sleep, work, sleep, bills, work, sleep, work..
meh, i think i should know what i will take and get it done by tomorrow... i am thinking i will only take like 12-14 credits this time, i want more time to sleep. haha
Ha, yeah i knew it was coming and its just more inconvenient then anything. I just really miss not having to try and still doing fine. I dono mabey its a good thing that i have to try now.
there are how many tommies in this thread lol? (i'm one too). yea the theo sucks, so does philosophy. ok, so all the general requirements suck period.
Ya I'm surprised at how many of you go to St. Thomas. I like how we have to take a human diversity class for our core yet there are still all these hate crimes happening...
yeah, i am sitting strong at like a D-ish in English i think, i NEED to go tomorrow, time to con the professor into letting me write a paper instead. lol
well 1 human diversity class isn't going to suddenly change a racists frame of mind. I mean, I'm still an atheist after 2 theologies :biggrin is that your grade?
I know...so why do we have to take it!? Just like this stupid run, walk, jog class...I'm being taught the same crap I learned in elementary school gym!
I've got a huge busin, communication group project duein a week and I think I'm gonna kill all my partners, damn procrastinators. Got another hugh applied stats project due the friday and presention in a week and I'm doing 100% of the work since they are lazy ass mofos and I need to get an A on the 1425465 point project to get a C in the class I need to write 15 short essays for my humanities music history class and a 3-4 page mini theory paper/ power point and marketing is running my ass down, too. I don't even want to talk about my accounting project, s#it I forgot all about my practice set due in a week, too. FU finals !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ah yes gym time - what a ****ing waste of time lol and yea, I wish the core requirements were structured better. I will never get to take a class outside my major that I actually want to take. And I can say that emphatically since I'm registered for all the classes I need for undergrad
Neither can I, its like high school all over again. The only problem is ill probly get in more trouble not going to this one then i did when i didnt go in when i was actually in high school. Speaking of trouble, St. Thomas guys on here get any drinking tickets. I got one at my house, off campus and i got a call one month later from school saying that they were concerned about it and that i needed to contact the assistant dean about it. I almost lost it talking to the guy on the phone and theres no way im calling the assistant dean about it. What i do in my own time is my business. Needless to say im having problems coping with my new learning environment.
I signed up for next semester a week or two ago. glad i got it done since most of my classes are full now. its going to be awesome going back to 17 credits w/ fridays off. 19 credits + chem lab just blows. lets see tomorrow I have a mass balance assignment due, a quiz, a 2pg paper and presentation, and a memo and a ton of reading to do. friday I have to finish both labs 15 and 16. sunday is group work for a presentation/paper thats due next week. paper due on monday that I havent even read the case for yet. wednesday have a long soils assignment due along with a chem midterm. thats just the start.
They probably just want you to talk with the leeaisan (sp?), they kinda of keep everything cool between the neighbors and the school. Cops came to our first party at our old house and didn't bust us for anything, but we were "flagged" meaning cops drove by a lot after that. Were you busted by the St. Paul cops, or the St. Thomas people? Where is your house?...if it's close to campus, then St. Thomas may have a say in what happens...
My house is on jefferson and saratoga. Im far enough from campus where i dont think they need to be concerned. It was also the saint paul police, 5 of them to be exact. Oh and there was only five of us at the house when it happened too. They look slightly confused when they had us all sitting there and they were writing tickets. The one chick cop that was there was on a power trip though. We were joking with the other four male cops about the "pirates" DVD that one of them pick up and she just flipped out on all of us and was about to drag us all to the drunk tank. She went on about being disrespectful (i mean we were all pretty drunk, it was 1 30 and we started around 10 so you get the picture) then i pointed out that she had her boot on my couch the entire time and how disrespectful that was. She didnt talk after that. *pimp hand sound*
I used to live in a duplex, and our neighbors (same house just other side) were having a party. It got kinda out of hand and cops were circling around the block. I wasn't part of the party because I had a huge test the next day...I was outside with takin a break from studying and told my neighbors to get everyone inside and turn the lights off. Well eventually the cops stopped in front of our house...came up to me (with a huge attitude) and told me there were a lot of noise complaints and kept asking me where my party was? All i ever responded to him with was "I don't know what you're talking about sir, I've been studying for my Theology test all night". Since there were no people or no noise, he had no reason to come in and search...but they kept circling around that night. Its hard living on an off-campus house near St. Thomas...all of the neighbors will hate you!
Yeah, I hate school right now, and I don't really sleep anymore...unfortunately those are 2 separate issues.
if that were the case I'd have no one to blame, but really the two professors gave us the projects a week ago and the topic for the paper just on monday.
ya it sucks when you get a bunch of projects assigned at the same time. Some profs dont understand that you are not just taking their class...
