Recently got a 2.5RS as a project but doesnt run.. It will turn over and whatnot but wont start. Guy figured the motor was shot but figure it could be some stupid thing. I havent checked the compression yet but seems like there's some there.. Have notice a little oil leaking from the Front and Back center.. Not by the head... Some mods were a turbo kit, exhaust, and AFC as far as I know right now.. The guy I got it from said he was driving interstate and it started to run rough, pulled over, shut off, and it never started again.... Sooo.. If you got any ideas let me know.. .. Thinkin I might just have to find a new motor but if I didnt have to that would be awesome!!.. LMK!! Thanks
Could be anything. You said there is oil leaking from teh center. Is this by the oil pump? Does the previous owner know how long it was leaking? Did you fill the oil at all? Do a compression check. Also, pull the plug wires and check the tubes for oil. Check all electrical connections to make sure they are connected. Check the sparkplugs and make sure they are clean enough to run. When were the headgaskets changed last? How many miles on the motor? Did you check the coolant for oil residue?
I dunno if was leaking in the past but i've noticed it recently on the garage floor. Oil though is right in the middle of the 2 dots on the stick and is normal colored.. Not milky or real dark. Plug did look like a bit of gas/oil mix. So I new new ones. Electrical im waitin for a scan tool to see if that pops anything up but doesnt look like anything in disconnected. Headgaskets I dunno if they have been changed but the car is around 120k miles i believe.. O and the gas it smells like it's getting plenty, thought of that though.. Was hoping it would be something dumb like that.. You never know!
