My intentions were to make this my winter car and store my wagon, but things have come up where I'm no longer able to keep it. It's got 172,xxx on the chassis and trans, and 80,xxx on the engine. I bought it with a bad engine and replaced it with a used one. When I got the engine I replaced the headgaskets, valve cover gaskets, timing belt and water pump. The chassis is pretty in the same condition as any other rs, rear quarter rust, and the clear on the hood scoop and vents are faded. The entire engine compartment is dry, no fluid leaks whatsoever. It's got a few suspension mods:

    KYB struts
    Proddrive lowering springs
    Aftermarket intake
    Perrin lightweight pulley
Kartboy short shifter with shifter bushings
Rotors and pads are relatively new
    WRX wheels painted black

The car has an exhaust leak that isn't too bad but cant miss it. The brakes squeak a little bit but I'm guessing it's just from poor quality parts. I'd like to see $6250 for it but I'm flexible on the price. The worst I can say is no. Shoot me a PM for any questions. I check the forum pretty often.
    Price lowered, $4750

I'm not a subaru guru, but isn't that a bit high of an asking price. I'm sure you're just using the "if I set the price high, then we can meet at my want price" method, but I'd have to lowball you 2 grand. GLWS. I've always liked the subaru reds.

as of right now i'm open to all offers. after seeing the amount of grief i've gotten, i came to realize that even though i'd put in so much work into the car, in the long run it amounts to nothing in the eyes of someone whos interested in buying the car. And now i see how much of a d-bag i looked like trying to get $6250 haha. So i'm open to offers. Thanks

Brosky just picked up an 02 WRX, 130k on body, 30k on completely redone motor (work receipts included) for $6k flat. Honestly $4k would probably be more realistic?

Although the wrx is cheap. The RS is a more sought out car. The only down fall on it is the rust.

Still doesn't mean it's worth 6k though. If you have an immaculate example in a rare color combination, or a well done swap, you might be able to fetch a sizable premium from the right buyer. But unfortunately they just aren't worth what they were a few years ago anymore. I agree that the gc 2.5rs will always have a following, but the market has come way down even in the last year and I would think that to the non-subaru enthusiast the wrx is more sought after these days. Especially since you can pick up a bugeye wrx wagon for $4-6k now.

Anyway, glws OP. Some interior pics and service history might help your sale.

You are correct.... It all comes down to the condition of the car. Even if it didn't have a motor swap but it was clean with no rust, interior was immaculant and maintance history is current, I can see it getting 6k.

I still love that body style.

I've looked at this a couple of times now so I thought I'd bump it. Looked for a gc 2.5rs for months before I settled on my legacy this past summer. Never found one in my price range or worth my time. good luck with the sale.

Trans shifts perfect. The only thing the car truly needs maintenance wise is the exhaust least fixed, and it's 100% flawless. Pm me if you're serious about checking it out
