As stated I am selling my 2001 2.5rs coupe with ej207 swap.
I am selling this because its time for me to pas this vehicle along to someone who has a little more time to make a few repairs and enjoy this little car. To get the bad out of the way right away, the motor has been using oil, just had the valve train done with Brian Crower valves last fall so I would suspect the issue is possibly the rings or a cracked piston. That states someone needs to put a little work into figuring out the oil consumption problem and after that its good to go!! now for all the details on the car itself. Chassis has 174k on it.

    Engine:
-version 5 ej207 (bottom end rebuilt with new version 6 crank and tomei rods. about 35k on the bottom end since the rebuild. Bottom end has about 105k on it. All internal motor work has been done by Mike Wray for those of you who know him. Did a great job and know his way around JDM engines. He also used coated race bearings of some sort on the bottom end. Still running the stock forged pistons, looked in good shape at rebuild just had fresh rings put on then. Heads where gone over last fall. all new Brian Crower valves installed seats ground and lash adjusted, valve guides and seales checked and inspected at that time. Heads have 15k on them since rebuild.
    -ported intake manifold
    -Hdi front mount
-ported (the whole way thru) ex. manifold with Grimmspeed hi-flow x-pipe
-Grimmspeed hi-flow up-pipe with 38mm ext. Tail wastegate

you selling this makes me sad, having a busted project of my own and no cash to buy this makes me even more sad.

this is a super clean car, and matt is a good dude, I'd be all over this if possible.

Note: This car runs, I have been daily driving it this summer, but there is oil consumption. I have been monitoring the oil every fill up and adding as necessary. The oil has been changes several times since the consumption problem started and no signs of bearing material. Also there are no audible noises from the engine out of the ordinary. This is whats lead me to believe a ring or piston issue.

Not sure at this time, I have not done a compression test on it recently. I do have a compression tester its just a matter of having some free time to look into it.

    Cyl #3 115psi Cyl #4 130psi
    Cyl #1 120psi Cyl #2 120psi

After making a few phone calls the ej207 v5 compresion should be 130psi warm

Engine was a little shy of being completely warmed up when the compression test was performed. Cyl #3 back by the turbo seems to be the odd man out.
