I drive a 2001 Subaru impreza 2.5rs coupe. My question is.. What do I need to have a full exhaust that goes strait to the header. Do I need a downpipe? Or would a header just hook up to a catback exhaust. Thanks for your time.

That I wouldnt be able to answer without knowing specs. I had a high flow cat like that for a week or so before I returned it. It was a poor fit and it was loud as hell. I was running UEL headers (most likely ebay brand) and an STI exhaust that was modified to fit the 2.5rs. I suspect those are all ebay special and will be a crappy fit and extremely loud.

That setup would work if you are keeping the cats. The flanges might need to be adapted to fit that cat-back
