2001 yz125 If you're looking to get a 2000+ steel framed pinger, this is the one to get due to the 6-speed tranny. The '02-04 bikes have a ****ty 5-speed. Factory Connection suspension (worth $500+ alone) FMF fatty pipe (I've got 2 of 'em plus the stock pipe) FMF Q silencer w/spark arrestor Works Connection skidplate Works Connection radiator braces Renthal o-ring chain and chainwheels Renthal 966 bars (new grips) Twin Air filter The bike has also been properly jetted (wideband, y0) and runs like a champ. The air cleaner and oil have always been changed out after every ride or every other one depending on conditions. I bought the bike earlier this year and the engine was completely fresh -- depending on use, you probably wouldn't need a new top end until late next year (about $100). $1500
I think this is the only one I have and it was taken before I put on the new grips. I might have more on my computer at home; I'll have to check.
'05 yz125 It's the same bike as the new '08 and has the same chassis (for the most part) as the '06+ yz250f thumpers. No point in shelling out nearly $5k when I can get the same bike with a few hours on it for much less. More $$$ for mods, yo. The thing absolutely rips.
springtime bump..... I touched up the frame paint last weekend and will probably put a better D.I.D. o-ring chain on it as well. More pics after this weekend.
Nope, not yet. It's been on the radar and I've been watching all of the listings there since last fall. I'll probably throw it up on there for $1650-1700 next week once I get some new photos snapped.
It has the stock spring rates and is valved for woods riding for a 165 lb B-class rider. However, the compression clickers and the rear shock preload have plenty of headroom -- even after being dialed in for my 185lb fat ass. Static sag on the rear shock is still within spec (ie, fully decompressed on a stand minus the sag from when the bike is freestanding).
I have lived in Mx my whole life. If you want to sell it slap on $1300 you'll sell it in a day. Plus prime time dirt bike season is almost over and the market is tight. I sold 3 of my 4 bikes this year. Everyone wanted to trade, no one really had any money, tuff sale + 4 strokes are still way to popular. Sounds like a nice bike, good Luck!
Yup, I'm aware of that however it's not a big deal if it doesn't sell. The fact that it's setup for harescrambles/woods riding is a plus as opposed to MX since nobody wants pingers for MX (unless it's a 250-2t).
No, unfortunately I missed the Monti HS because I was up north that weekend getting the bikes out of storage. I got my ass handed to me in Arkansaw, but plan (or at least hope, lol) to do better the rest of the season. I just got back into riding late last summer after taking a 14-year time out, hahaha.
I just sold my yz250f this spring, I'm waiting one season to heal up, and I’m hoping for so Fuel injections bikes to come out soon or I’m going back to two strokes. Hopefully I won’t be to rusty for next season.
The '09 KX450F has EFI on it now. It's going to be great in a couple of years when I'll be able to hook up my laptop to my dirtbikes, lolz.
I highly doubt you could actually get it plated, but I've never really looked into it. It would be pretty easy to get complaints, though.
The spark arrestor muffler on the bike has passed every sound check at around 94-95 dB -- which is pretty quiet for a race bike but still loud as hell, lolz.
I just saw a 250f (Yamaha) last month. Yamaha has a full street legal/ dirt bike that is Fuel injected. They also have a super moto version. Pretty Sweet
That's because 4-stroke bikes are easily made legal, have less emissions, and can be reliable at constant rpm's. 2-Smokes don't like to hold constant revs, and are way more prone to blowing up when not constantly changing revs.
except I am looking more to the 05's.. should I say dreaming... other stuff to spend money on... new house (brag brag) new shop equipment turbo upgrades on Forester total 500+hp build on RX7 with pretty much everything from scratch (wont be happening this lifetime)
