2002 Subaru WRX - SOLD PLEASE DELETE THIS CAR HAS SOLD. Please delete this thread moderators. Thank you! Well I have owned this car for 7 years and I've decided it is time to move on. It is a 2002 Subaru WRX Wagon in Platinum Silver Metallic. The car has been amazing and it is hard letting it go. Many people on here know that I bought this car with a Salvage title when it was 1 year old. I had the main body work professionally done at LeMettry's Auto Body and did some of the mechanical work myself. The car runs just as it should but does have a "Prior Salvage Title." The car has been all over the US to take me snowboarding, so it does have a few defects that I have noted below. The car has also been Autocrossed for one complete season. Included with the car will be 2 sets of rims and tires. The first set is the stock wheels with 1 month old General Altimax Artic Tires. The other set are BBS RK rims with Admiral 712 tires with plenty of tread. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I would like to sell it for $5500 or best offer due to the salvage title. I will consider trades for an Outback as I would like to move to a smoother riding car for more road trips! Could you provide a little more detail about the original damage and the work that needed to be done? I may be looking for a wagon in the next week or so. Also, have you had any issues with the transmission? I am a little hesitant about 02 models for that reason.
No problem, the car was hit in the front passenger side when I purchased it. The car received straightening to that frame rail via the body shop. All body panels which were damaged were replaced with OEM panels. This included the hood, fenders, front bumper, and front bumper support beam. I have not had any issues with the transmission at all. I'm still running the stock clutch as I typically drive it like a grandma around the streets. The transmission still shifts very smoothly.
Cool, thanks. It may sell before I have enough cash on hand to make an offer (I just blew several grand on a Cherokee. Oops...). If you still have it when I have cash I will probably want to come take a look. I assume since you mentioned Jeff's alignment that it aligned fine after the frame straightening?
Yea I had it aligned by White Bear Subaru after the frame straightening several years ago. I just recently went to Jeff and had an alignment done due to some odd tire wear on my previous tires. It turned out I had a bad tire, but I figured the alignment wasn't a bad idea anyways. Well just shoot my a PM when you have the cash and if I have still have it around I would love to show it to you.
Thanks! Don't worry, if it sells you will see another Subaru there. It just may be in the form of something with heated seats.
what's with all the wagon's coming up for sale after I just bought one, and I couldn't find one to save my life a few weeks ago. well good luck with the sale.
i here ya, last month i couldn't find one. i could find like 2 a ton of miles, and they wanted way over book, i had to buy one from oregon. and have my friend fly out and drive it back for me..
Have pics of the BBS rims/tires? My wife would like to know what kind of mileage you see in it as well. Thanks!
I will get some pics of the BBS Rims as soon as I can. They are currently in storage as I have the winter rims on. As for mileage I currently get about 24mpg but I spend quite a bit of time on the highway. The downside is that the car takes premium gas... I'll post the pics this weekend.
There is currently a pending sale on the car. I will take down the ad if it sells. Sorry I haven't been able to find a picture of car with the BBS Rims on it since they were on for a very short time.
No problem OP. The RS got damaged last night so I think the cash I would of had for you just disappeared... I don't think I could have bought it right now anyways. I hope it goes through for you!
FYI, I am hopefully the person who will be buying this. We have a couple details to get sorted out, but they should not be an issue. I am excited for my first Subaru. I'll be selling my M3 this spring and putting my efforts solely into the WRX, which if I can keep myself under control will be no more than cleaning up the couple physical blemishes and maintenance, no more. I think it will make a great daily driver that should still be fun enough to put a smile on my face when needed.
