So just picked up a 2005 OBXT. It has an auto trans.

Anyone have recommendations for engine, trans., rear diff and brake fluids for these?

It is going to be used mostly as a daily/winter car.

any good dot4 brake fluid, Valvoline full synthetic or Rotella for oil, and OEM for trans/diff.

I know the T6 is in a different bottle now. I had read some stuff about it maybe having changed its formula? You know if there is any merit to this?

In that order? What happens if I change the order of the formula?

I have been using the T6 in the new bottle and seems the same but I haven't done any analysis. I used half of one old bottle and half from the new bottle in my last oil change and it hasnt assploded yet.

Yea talking to jesse at JM we have both come to the conclusion the only difference between the two is the new formula uses less zinc filler then the original.

If thats true that sucks. By zinc i assume he means ZDDP which is one of the reasons T6 was good, it helps prevent wear especially on flat tappet cams. But that makes sense because the EPA doesn't like it.

Correct. From what I saw on the SDS form the old version had about 5%. New formula is down around 2%.

I still plan to use it as it is readily available and inexpensive. Until it stops doing what I need it to do I plan to stick with it.

Interesting about T6. I've always been a diehard Mobil Clean 5000 fan. Been getting harder and harder to find. Have to go to Walmart now. I hate that. But I see they sell Rotella as well. I figured I'd convert once I had to...

Tons of stores sell rotella now. Pretty much every large chain store sells it for cheaper then you cans buy it online even.

If you've used Blackstone labs before, have them run an oil analysis on the new stuff to see how it holds up. That's the only way to find out for sure, other than the car didn't explode.

    Astroglide or Valvoline VR1?

You can get ZDDP additives but that seems risky. I would consider it on a fresh rebuild.

I went with the new formula Rotella. I will do a blackstone labs test when It gets drained for the next oil change. Went with OEM filter and fluids for the trans and both diffs.
