I'm looking at a GT for sale that my wife likes but the navigation does not work... blank screen, will not accept disk. Anyone have any experience on this @derp maybe? I just use the force and end up where i need to go but she's challenged in the NSEW logic of travel... So it will be a deal breaker if I cannot get the nav functional
RIGHT! I went from Seattle to LA to my buddies house with a total of 4 turns in directions 15 hrs later I'm eating bar b q at his spot! Take the 5 , L on E Olive,L on 9th , R on E orange grove, 3rd house on R ( didn't write anything down)
Wife with dysfunctional navigation. My Legacy was a 2005 with no nav. Good luck. Doesn't she have a smart phone?
Did he just say wife & smart in the same sentence???? HA Ha ha hahahhaahh.........sorry ladies but I am trying to help her get to the destination...if she trys the nav on the phone there's ( where do I put it so I can see it, while working the phone & car, then there's the possibility of a call or text) I discreetly would like her to have someone other than myself instructing the episode to her destination! IE not responsible for missed turns...ETC!
The most prolific option is getting the jdm douv din plate. This one involves a jdm hazard switch and other ****
I think my wife uses the nav from her phone and listens to voice directions through a Bluetooth earpiece rather than looking at the phone. And does that Legacy come with a map disc from 2006 or a newer one? You might be surprised at the cost of an up to date disc. Ford wants $149 for a current SD card for our Escape. I have two words for Ford.
Yes, aftermarket would be better. Most are more responsive, Bluetooth, iPod/phone integration, better screen, etc. And on eBay, update discs for your car will cost you around $350-500 (west, midwest, and east coast discs). Or go the cheap route and get a phone holder and load up Waze which is a LOT better than any OE navigation system.
