Definately starting to like it more and more as different pictures come out of it. Drawings just never do a car justice in my opinion. Once its built and sitting there can you and should you finally voice an opinion
Paint the outside edges of the grill black and it would look even better. I wonder if Subaru will charge more for the 2.5L displacement.
i like it, i have since i saw the first pics, i just dont like the tail lights can anyone tell from the pic if the interior is solid tan or is it black dash with tan cause that would be hawt! i wonder how long it will take jason to bomb this thread with goatse, he cant stand the 06's but he loves the goatse.
same same.. growing on me... but I disliked the current fron end too.. so we will see... as long as it kicks ass... even though instead of the bugeye Neon look they have a Mazda 6 look... but better Mazda than Dodge I say.. ha ha
Those are the new 'standard' wheels now. I think they are 17s finally. As for the face, I will admit it is growing on me....not "I'd trade in for one" growing on me, but more of an "I'll let one hang out at Firestone as long as they don't park near me" kind of growing on me. I might change my mind on the looks when some body kits that remove the front bumper and grille come along. The headlights are good, I do like the way they look. I was worried that they would look too much like Legacy lights, and I hate when car companies make all their headlamps look the same. Except last gen BMWs, they are all hot. And those tail lights will NEVER be acceptable. EVER. There is absolutely no love for ricer altezza looking tail lights. In fact, the first person to buy an 06 and do an 04-05 tail conversion will get 25 bucks from me for his 06 tail lights so I can burn them in my backyard firepit then piss on them to put out the flames. I like the fact that the new interior mimics the 05 STi interior in that the doors are upholstered. While I don't think Subaru fabrics will hold up to the kind of abuse door panels take, I think it refines the look considerably and I wouldn't be against getting a set of 06 door panels so I can reupholster them in the massive rolls of Sparco fabric I have laying around.
I like the headlights and the sideskirts, they look like the sti ones. Over all, ok looking. Would debadge the front if that was an option.
Those wheels will be an option! if you look on nabisco, you will see that car and driver said that there will be a tuner ready model. 17's and better brakes. It is growing on me, especially being it will have the 2.5 mill, and from rumors the avcs. Tim
Here is some good info i found on nasioc! this is truth!!! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=814787
Here are the specs of the 06 WRX: Displacement 2,457 cc (150 cu. in.) Bore x Stroke 99.5 x 79 mm (3.92 x 3.11 in.) Compression ratio 8.4:1 Max. boost pressure 13.5 psi Horsepower 230 @ 5,600 rpm Torque 235 @ 3,600 rpm Gear ratios 5MT 1 3.454 2 1.947 3 1.366 4 0.972 5 0.738 R 3.333 Final drive 3.70 with viscous limited-slip rear Coefficient drag (Cd) Sedan: 0.33 Sport Wagon: 0.37 Curb weight (lb) 5MT: WRX Sedan = 3,192 Very nice numbers. It looks Subaru dumped the EJ20 motor and put in a lesbian's Forester XT motor instead. It looks like the 06 WRX will be faster than the fastAr srt4.
Of all the changes, most people got in a titter about the gearing...the 3.70 final drive will make it more of a highway cruiser than it is now.
I still think they should have went with something that looks more like the 9-2x grill: The middle grill in the 06 WRX just seems outta place for some reason.
