awesome, have to think about it - first weekend after school resumes could either be really good or really bad
Bump as we NEED more entries. 175.00 for open track day with instruction is as inexpensive as it gets. 60.00 for autocross from turn 3 to 8 without cones added to the track is also a deal no other group has offered. Let's get a big MN Subaru showing. Don't just spectate, enter! I will be there as an instructor for the lapping. I will ride with you or if you want, drive your car as a resource for you to use to improve your speed and safety. I will NOT drive your car faster than you want me to. This event is all about you having a safe, fun time with your car in a legal environment.
i'd totally be in this but i'm in a wedding this weekend. i REALLY wish i could make it. you guys should try to get up there this weekend!!! we need to start the trend of having more road course events
BUMP! This might be the last event with the combination of RR, CCC and Hill Climb all together in one event. I'll be out there helping with Instructing and where needed. Hoping to give out rides where appropriate. This events sound like another great opportunity for a touge special!
damn so tempting, but my fast car is running like poop. so i would have to drive the ice racer which could be fun, but i'm not sure if i can swing the money to run, since i have issues on the white car. i will try to make it out to at least check it out.
Ok, 500+ pics, so I need to go through them before I do some uploading. I will post up a link and a couple of teaser pics later. Russ
That was a whole lot of fun! I ran the autocross on Saturday and had a ton of fun. Considering I was on my stock tires, I think I did o.k. to tie for 5th, granted there were only about 15 cars there. There were some interesting cars running, including a Maserati Biturbo. Since there were no cones we didn't need to take turns picking them up and we all ran in one session, one at a time. There were so few cars that more than once I would come around to the start line after my run and pull right up to go again. I even got a ride in Mark's rally Mustang, that thing is a hoot! Thanks Mark and everyone else for a very fun and relaxed weekend of racing. Thanks also to Chong for riding along to help me with my lines and braking points. I can't wait to see the pics that Russ took. Amy
Amy I am amazed by your driving skills this weekend at BIR, you drive better than most of the male student's I've worked with. I'll have to catch you at another Rally event and co-drive and you can show me a few things about rally driving techniques. This weekend was great, I got to make new friends, spend time with motorheads, talk cars and the benefits of volunteering is off the wall. Huge thanks to M. Utech and A. Springer for their hospitality and wonderful humor though mother nature couldn't make up her mind to rain or shine which also made for a interesting Saturaday. p.s. Thnx for letting me drive the Rally Lead car!
I forgot to mention the construction at BIR is very visable as the new layout slowly appears on the inside of the track. I am looking forward to more SCCA events back in MN. And with the more technical layout I wont have to drive soo far to enjoy some challenging fun.
The pictures look great, glad you were there to snap some pictures. Next time we need you on the track shooting some motion pictures and maybe even co-drive and snapping pictures. Come on ScandiaWRX is a awsome driver! LOL
Noted! I am keeping track of attendance, so I hope you deliever, I want to see more Subaru drivers out an event or all! If you show up we can do our Cheech Touge Challenge!
