2008 STi Optional BBS?

Okay so I was just on the subaru site and they come standard with the 5 Spoke rims which look like the ones that come on the RX-8. The BBS rims are a $2,000 optional package? So who works at the dealership what do you know about this? I'm just amazed now that they come with 2.5RS Look Alike Rims Standard instead of the BBS.

 

a)subaru rims are never knock off crap. Enkei makes all of them. flip your wheels around sometime and look at the casting mark.

b) subuaru decided the BBS wheels added so much to the price of the car that they offered them as an option for people who wanted to pay less for the car. I don't see what's wrong with that.

c) the rims are hardly 2.5RS lookalike. I'd prefer to buy it for $2k less and decide what wheels I want anyways since most people just go and buy whatever else they like.

 

i totally agree, the BBS wheels never did it for me anyways

 

I'm not saying those are Knock Off Crap. I'm just saying the standard rims really do look cheap. They do kind of look like the 06-07 2.5RS Rims though(IMO). Also the MPG rating has changed quite a bit. Hopefully they just changed the way the measure it.

Oh I just like to wonder. No I am not high...acutally maybe. I am currently on pain killers medication Getting your wisdom teeth taken out is not fun. Specially when you have to do it again the get the last 2 out.

i knew i was correct. Because from what I knew the 07 STi has I think 19/25 MPG. And when I went back to check even the WRX only says 20/26 now. I'm getting worried about subaru. The more accurate they get the more their numbers go down. Just the like new HP rating.

 

are u kidding me? Of course it wasn't so bad at the moment. After the numbness went out though it was bad. My mouth was so sore I couldn't even spit the blood out.

 

People's wisdoms grow in differently, hence why some don't need them pulled...

I had mine done last year, I elected for full KO for the extraction...they shot me full of novacaine, hooked me up with nitrous, and gave the general anesthetic in the IV (bluestone OMS in Duluth FTMFW!)...it was a "tough" extraction, the wisdoms were basicly 90degrees to my other teeth, so they had to cut gums open, then cut the teeth apart to get them out....
3 weeks of pain, 4 months of misery with all the tedious hygene that followed...glad that's over!

Take a look at how hard the Prius got hit on MPG and you won't feel so bad. Every car measured on the new system as lower numbers by quite a bit.

I'm also getting the roll-down windows, push-button AM-only radio, A/C delete and alyouminium wheels delete. A set of flat black Steely Dans on there will grant the uber stealth look.

As for the 5 spokes vs BBS. If the price was the same I'd take the BBS just for the resale value. All rims may be made by the same people but the name stamped on them is what fetches the price. A good example of that is the 07 STI limited rims.

 

Regarding the upgraded wheel package.....

Doesn't the '08 already come with 17" BBS wheels and the $2k option was for 18" BBS wheels?
