final results Solberg, Petter Mills, Phil Subaru Impreza WRC2008 2nd place Atkinson, ChrisPrevot, StephaneSubaru Impreza RC2008 DNF- Suspension
Why did you post the results??!?!?! You could have at least left a disclaimer or spoiler heading so I wouldn't look. :emo:
still worth watching! Rallytorrents has the torrent files if you need them. btw the 08 looked marvelous!
Turkey Results Well, looks like they didn't fair too well in Turkey. Pretty rough course. Solberg came in 6th and Atkinson came in 13th overall. Still my heroes Here's some additional shots from the rest of the rally.
Its kinda hard to recognize without the hood scoop. So far its proving itself to be a good contender, lets hope it continues.
Finland next!!!!!!!!!!! But not for another 35 days:emo: they just started testing the car on asphalt. here's some reading on it. The WRC2008 underwent its first asphalt test last week, in the hills of Italy. Piloted by Markko Märtin, the Estonian sums up the test: “It was good, the initial feeling is really very good†commented Markko. “We worked on improving the performance during the week and learned a lot about how the car works and how it responds to changes which was good. “I think it was a very good test and I’m feeling confident of the car’s asphalt performance. The car has a good balance and feels positive to drive. We didn’t have any major issues during the test, and we managed to work on a few areas of setup. It’s only the first time out in these conditions so there’s more we can do, but I think the car will be competitive on asphalt. “We learned that the car fundamentally works well on this surface and responds well to setup changes. I think there are just a few small areas of fine-tuning, a few little things that we need to do, but it will be very good. “Ok, Rally Germany is a slightly special event, but the focus is now handing over to Petter and Chris from the pre-event test. We were testing last week in the hills of Italy which gives slightly different conditions, but you can only test specifically for Rally Germany in Germany. Mountain roads have a flow and a lot of long corners, whereas Germany has a lot of straights and junctions, but the high-speed stability and balance is there in the car so I think it will translate well. “I prefer driving on asphalt rather than gravel, so for me it was also a fun test. There’s no dust on tarmac, which is good! It can be a struggle when it rains though, but when it’s nice weather it’s really good fun. It was a successful tes, so I really enjoyed it.â€
That is an optimistic review, I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season goes. This season is really giving Leob a run for the money, luck has changed, lets see if he is able to pull thru which I think he will with his driving.
First outing: Petter 2nd, Atko out - suspension, then electrical gremlins Second outing: Petter 6th, Atko 13th So far, reasonably reliable (acropolis was the first outing, usually a car shredder) .. just need to work on the fast part :hsugh: But... given that the WRC cars have jack and squat to do with the production cars, these days... what does it matter?
Hello from Jyvasklya, Finland! just wrapping up the last day here, Loeb #1 (one crazy frenchmen), Hirvonen #2(crowd favorite), and ATKINSON #3 (woot). More pics to come soon:biggrin:
