Hey names Jake, I have an 08 wrx "hence the title". Mild mods so far such as turbo back exhaust, tint and this really cool middle finger air freshener that I found at Spencers gifts. I live up in Princeton sell cars in Coon Rapids and in my free time like jumping things with motors. I've done the brainerd beater rally, beater x in elk river and currently ice race. None of this in my wrx "being that its not a beater. I plan on doing a cobb suspension drop front lip spoiler. rear trunk lib spoiler so I get that clean lowered look and some nice gun metal rims. Performance wise I wanna do a heatshield and intake, tune and bpv. Nothing radical being my daily driver. My other whips are an 87 turbo'd fox body mustang, an 06 ram "yes it has the hemi" and an 06 GSXR 750. Looking to meet some other subaru peeps hence why I'm on a subaru forum. I might have I try to keep an eye out. Is yours the black one? I have seen that one a few times. I just got this one 2 months ago white wingless other then the tint and exhaust its just a basic rex nothing to special yet.
Nope I'm in a wrb one. Theres a couple in town now, a black winless and a black one with a honda'ish wing. Is yours a sedan or hatch?
No I moved up this way during my senoir year, and I drove to Cooper high in New hope. My brothers went to princeton though. I'll keep an eye out for ya.
Welcome. I would highly recommend on tuning your car if you have turbo back exhaust. Do not get Cobb springs for your car unless you want to replace your shocks in a couple months. You could get away using Swift springs with stock struts/shocks. Our suspension sucks try to find some used 09 set up, it's much better and can handle lowering springs.
Ya the tune is coming up soon. I have some inquries out there to find out pricing and horse power estimations but havn't heard back from db tuning and speed shop specialties.
I agree on the 08 struts. I replaced mine with 2010 struts. I also have STi pink spring, but would look at something more like Epic next time. Also, sway bars help the 08 WRX a ton. Anyways, welcome.
Well if you guys have an Idea on the spring set up and sway bar kit hit me up with easy locates I'm looking like I said for more of a sleak look. So a 1" drop in the front and a 1.5" drop in the rear.

for a full dyno tune though I was thinking about swapping to E85 more power less mileage but where I live everyone sells E85
Make sure you have a supporting fuel system (bigger injectors and fuel pump) if you're looking to go E85. Nuke can definitely help you out on the E85 tune.
well what I need help with right now is 20 mins ago I ran down to MAPerformance and they are swamped I guess... But I bought a turbo smart BOV and in the pic on the website its a simple bolt on have fun system. Then I get back to my work and having a tech put it on he comes back says there is no plate and the directions say weld it on. I'm like wooooo we aint welding on my motor for a lil BOV. Anyone have any idea on how to get a plate for this MAP is to busy to answer questions right now.
post a pic of the bov. sounds like you got the wrong one. maybe one made for a front mount kit? Although those usually come with a flange (either with the bov or with the intercooler piping).
thats the one they got me but notice the flanges on the bottom mine doesnt have one but the part number is the same...
yeah, you need that. I dunno if its a modular piece, but if not, then you bought the wrong one (assuming you have a top mount intercooler)
You might get away with your stock fuel system to run E85. Talk to your tuner but I have seen people run E85 on td04 with 550cc injectors and STI fuel pump.
