There aren't many TD04s out there, the 13t has the standard 5 bolt Subaru downpipe flange.

if I don't like what it looks like it doesn't matter what it drives like....unless of course you fine folks at morries are giving them away for free. I'm not paying for something that I don't like:p

I have a feeling it will be the same or a very similar turbo. The 06+ WRX's are underrated in terms of BHP from the factory. Sorry, something that dyno's in at ~190-200 WHP stock doesn't have 230 BHP.

Yeah, but what would a 2.0 WRX dyno at on that same dyno?

My '06 came in at around 170whp over at DB when it was stock, just like a 2.0L.

If anything, I'd guess they'd move to a crappy vf40 type of setup and a slightly more aggressive tune. LGTs put out 250 chp.....

My 06 did 207whp at RS iirc with just a catback on it. If they change anything I bet they do it for 10, not 09.

They're doing it to coincide with the Ralliart Lancer. So they'd probably want to get it on the market in 09

Fair enough. Let's hope they change the tune a bit regardless of what turbo they slap on the car, but I'm honestly not crossing my fingers....

The new mitsu is going to be around 235hp, direct compition for the WRX how it sits now. I can see Subaru upping the HP to 240ish and a touch more tq, maybe tossing in a 6 speed and a limited slip. I dont see them adding 40hp, wont happen.

For the 2010 model and in addition to the extra HP, Subaru should hire a Nissan design team and invest with it [Dr. Evil's voice] "ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!" (Duh-dum)

Yeah, like AWD said, they'll need to bump the STI by just as much to keep selling them at that point.

Meh, sounds like all they're doing is acknowledging the *actual* output of the 06+ WRX with a few tweaks. Window meet Dressing.

    Bi-turbo H6 STi and/or LGT in '10 por favor.

Do you think there will be a good change? Is it Subaru's thing to change every 2 years? If so I'm going to wait for 2010. The front end also looks similar to a 2007 chevy impala, boring and plain.

They wont. The styling was not well liked in over seas markets, which is why the 04-05 came along so quickly after it was introduced.

Its not like its hard to add 23 crank horse to the wrx...

they could easily have fixed flow issues with the horrible cats they have been using, and gone with better engine management/tunes. I'd be willing to bet a few of the "STAGE 1" wrx's around here are over 260 "crank" ponies as long as they have a LITTLE exhaust work done.

Am I on the right track?

As dream stated, even the 2.5L WRX's could fall into that category stock (depending on the dyno). Crank/BHP numbers don't really mean anything.

It's not the hp that's the news, Joe Shmo can add 40 horses to a wrx for nothing. All the extra stuff: rims, suspension, exterior and interior styling points are what will help this car sell. And I don't imagine a big change in price or mpg or any of that either, these changes are cheap for a manufacturer. Subie bombed on the initial 2008, this is a quick fix, and it should be good.
