Nice pics, that looks like a pretty hard landing on that wagon. I found a link with a few pics. http://www.worldrallysport.com/content/ojibwe-forests-rally-2009 That 2010 mustang looks pretty mean, it'll be intersting to see how it held up. A few more http://www.terrafirmaclothing.com/terrafirma/ojibwe-day-1-pics/ http://www.terrafirmaclothing.com/terrafirma/ojibwe-day-2-pics/
Here are the pics i took at the rally. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=138124&id=640859702&l=de5ef4f26b
From what i heard, he got the back end off and hit a rock, then the tree then landed on his roof... thats just hear-say, so it may not be correct
Entire Online Collection: http://www.flickr.com/photos/figzphoto/ I was assigned to tag along with Bob(Robert) from mysubie.com since it was first Rally race assignment. I didn't get a chance to shoot every car since we were in quite the hurry to get to as many stages as we could. I'm glad I had a liaison to show me what's involved. I would have been completely lost and would have only made it to a couple stages. I was very impressed and I'm hoping to make it to future events. That being said. I got a couple decent shots. I'd rank this in difficulty (from a photographer's standpoint) as similar to off-road racing (WSORR, SCORE, TORC, etc.) except you have few attempts to get "the shot". I'll definitely have to rethink some things and really study the staging maps next time. Fun stuff!

PLEASE POST PICTURES, not facebook links. Not everyone has or wants a facebook account to view pictures. Russ
I was talking to the driver of one of the heavy sweep trucks (SAS'd Xterra that was at the 1st Crawl 4 the Cure.....btw), he said that he hit a rock, and the strut tower failed, pushing the strut up through the hood. obviously, he lost control at that point......it wound up upside-down, essentially missing the front suspension. He also said that the Subaru rally crew guy he was talking to said that they intended to fix the car, but would have to completely replace the unibody from the firewall forward (framerails and everything :eek3 also, I got video of the rally wagon getting air at the speedway, I didn't realize he came down that hard! nice shot!
As far as i herd Block rolled and hit a tree then was on roof......front end was gone and the FR strut was through the hood of the car......one of the wheels WITH strut still on came back to the service aread on Friday along with the front nose and almost all of the front end......
I dont think I've ever seen a Mustang on a ralley event before. Thats pretty interesting indeed. How did he do?
mark has been rallying a mustang for years. he normally races a foxbody but rolled it at NT3. Ford built this 2010 and gave it to him to run OFR. he did very well in it - he won friday's regional and had an off on saturday that cost him
Here are the pictures I took from the rally. I was 6 feet from the car 12 rollover on the highway 135 (i think) spectator area http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=138124&id=640859702
My ojibway goodies... Travis Partana Satge 14 Mark U. Satge 14 Carl Stage 14 Mark U's Car at Curling club Saturday night. and a few photos...
the old fox body 'stang mark rolled was a very fast and capable rally car. he is in the process of rebuilding. there have been several fox body mustang rally cars out there over the years. aside from the hurst built one mark used to drive the rest were out in michigan. when hurst had the mustang it was blue for a while and had a great bumper sticker on it: "Got torque?" the fact that mark won friday night and was within a couple minutes of lauchlin in Max AttacK!!! is a testimant to mark and rob's skills in the car. that srt-4 is a very well sorted car to be runing a vurtually untested chassis against.
did that wagon survive after that? tire is pushed up pretty far... think hed bend suspension or tweak something.
Jerry Winker got some. you can browse through his pics here: http://www.comicozzie.com/gallery2/v/2009/OF09/
no hubcap there. that is the wheel. chad got a flat and pressed on to the finish. they would have lost more time if they stopped on stage to change it than they did driving on the rim.
Friday Ojibwe 09 Stuff Here are the goods. Pictures http://www.facebook.com/ofspunk7?ref=profile#/album.php?aid=101273&id=581334783 Videos - 3 Videos, Mark, Travis and Ken @ Corner 83 http://www.facebook.com/ofspunk7?ref=profile#/ofspunk7?v=app_2392950137
The trifecta of fail. Please open the facebook stuff for the old people who do not want to join facebook. Thank you Russ
since when did facebook become the photo hosting site of choice? lame. yea, the rally wagon finished that stage without noticeable problem.
Tim and I were marshaling on Friday at a straight-away for stage 4, which turned into a quirky 90-right for stage 6. Here's some pics from my point-and-shoot:
Hey at least I posted my link before you advised against it! I just chose not to spend the time to rehost all my pics on photobucket. It's not that bigga deal to me. I will however post this one pic I'm in the tree getting the best possible shot! haha
And some more. Tim got much better shots with his better camera of the cars in action, so I didn't bother with mine (last pic is of one of the zero cars coming through the stage to be sure everything and everyone is where it needs to be):
Pics will be up shortly after i get them hosted. i still need to convert alot of the RAW images too http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj313/snwbrd4256/Ojibwe Forest Rally 2009/
Travis or one of his crew guys drove the car back to the hotel after practice got to follow them for a bit
