http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/...breaks-cover-ahead-of-new-york-auto-show.html -Apparently a new CVT (2.5i only so probably can't handle much torque) -A new more general-purpose 6-speed (probably coming to a WRX near you sooner than later) -A 5-speed auto that can handle the torque of the 3.6L H6. (Auto STi now in reach?)
It looks a hell of a lot better than the concept car. Although I wish the trunk garnish would have made it. I'm curious how they cut 50 lb from the 6 speed.
Very interesting. I am curious too about how they lightened the 6spd. It is lighter than the spec B one which doesnt have DCCD to start with. I hope it is still as strong.
I read it and am fascinated by the transmissions. You guys are fascinated by the body paneling. *sigh*
They have been in every single turbo LGT ever on us shores. The only option for automatic trans. and the only transmission avail for every 05+ 6 cyl, be it tribeca, or outback.
Claimed 0-60 for the new GT is 5.9 This gen was 5.1 (R&T, 5 speed spec-B on RE050A, same tires). 22 more HP and slower. It's a porker.
