Awesome job catching the tip in frame by frame action, lol. It's kind of interesting that it was produced more so by car height and catching dirt with the entire side edge of the car body rather then from the tires alone. My bro was talking about car 10 doing similar but in his case, he just had a wall of dirt just wash over his car. This also brings up a small note. If the course is getting heavily rutted and you don't want to chance 2 wheel action or a complete roll, drive the car smoothly through the corner instead of pitching it sideways into the corner. The high attack angle and abrupt catch is what does these things. Following a smooth arc through the corner in a rut won't do anything. These kinds of things also chance pulling tires off rims, so smooth and flowing isn't also quick, it's safer too. If you're in a rut, you'll already have the grip gain anyways, well, as long as you're not snow plowing dirt along the way.
I am NOT quick enough on my feet to grab a timing light from approaching doom. The timer had packed up and we had gone to stopwatches. I just happened to be starting the clean up process and figured if the weren't being used, get the sensors out of harm's way. Regarding why Amy got up on the bicycle, the LoL region safety stewards will be discussing this and changing our threshold for what requires an immediate course change. The rut that existed was not very deep and it was very soft. However, it was enough to cause this incident. It was only because Amy kept her head and reacted appropriately that the car came down on the tires with the only damage being two debeaded tires. The safety stewards and eventmasters had already started discussions of what to change for the next run group but we were just a little to slow on the trigger to make the change mid group. I accept my share of blame for what happened. As I said, Amy, through her actions, saved her car and saved all of us a bunch of paperwork. Thanks Amy for the show and the outcome.

sounds like very similar conditions to metzger's roll a few years ago in the silty soil at my parent's. we were aware of the rut and it got really bad a lot faster than expected.

I'm no expert but I'm think you could ride your brakes around that course six times before they would glow like that. I suspect orange cone reflection.

I think it happened because it was so soft. Hard ruts people usually dont try to go over sideways, it can wreck stuff, they usually follow the ruts but by the time Amy took her run through that turn it was like a childs sand box, fun to throw the car into but deep enough to flip it as seen.
LOL I thought the same thing when I saw that pic I was like HOW IN THE F&*$? Its definitely the cone, I only recall hitting the brakes 2 or 3 times on that course and thats with my left foot.
i dont disagree with what youre saying, but amy did have an extra 350lbs in that side of the car on that run. also, she was recovering from the turn just before it. i think unless there were others that were 2 wheelin, i wouldnt be so hard on yourselves for not being quick to change the course. i didnt mind the sand, it sucked that it slowed you down but
