Okay dirt lovers, time to start thinking about the 2010 Rally Cross Season!

Each year we hold a Rally Cross planning meeting before the SCCA LOL Banquet to discuss the event series, identify Event Masters, pick dates for the events, and discuss new venues.

At this time I'm simply gauging interest and would like to see a show of hands if you're intersted in attending the meeting and providing your input on the event series.

I'm also looking to find out who would have interest in becoming an Event Master for one of the events in 2010. (PM me for details)

I'm going to work with Erik Dahl and a few others to identify the date/time/location of the meeting as we might not have it before the banquet.

Who wants to help out in 2010?

Please bear with me since I'm new to SCCA LOL Region Rallycross Chairperson position and still feeling my way around. :biggrin:

 

if we can get a event that is closer to the fargo/moorhead area i would love to be an event master.

are you on Rallymn yahoo group? that is where a lot of LoL competitors get info too.

i would possibly be able to help out at one of the corcoran events too. that is the closest event to fargo right now at 3 hours away.

Hey Greg! I miss those Rochester ones (the non-dusty ones!)! Any chance of us being able to get in there again down the road?

We need to figure out a date for the planning meeting as well. If anyone has any good ideas of when we can do that, please discuss them in here. We also need to figure out where to hold the meeting. In years past we've done it just before the banquet. But this year the banquet will be on friday night, so we won't have a chance to get in there to hold it.

Like Dave said, we need to figure out eventmasters and dates in particular. Sites for some of later events can be figured out later on, but we would need sites for the first few events nailed down. Remember, you can be eventmasters for more than one event if you want to. If you are an eventmaster, you get your choice of either taking first place points in your class or have free entry to the event.

One of the big things we are still on the lookout for are more venues that we can use. We have a few right now, but we need more.

I like the cannon falls location but im biased as its only a 20 min. drive from home

 

I'll be there. I will be an event master for an event as well. I don't want my cheater points though.

 

I'll try and come - I event mastered the first rallycross in 09, I could probably do another this coming season

 

If you really feel they are cheater points, bring it up at the meeting. If you are just slamming someone (Dave) I blame in on the interwebz not being able to convey sarcasm.

Nope just giving Dave some crap. I think those that put in their time making this stuff happen should be rewarded.

 

I am VERY happy to hear that. Both that you are cool with the organizer points AND that you were giving Dave some static. He does, after all, have it coming.

 

i do like that you give the event master the choice of free entry or points. when we did the events in rochester we probably put in 6-10 hours of work the day before and morning of to get the site ready.

the site in rochester is out of comission right now and there is no one down there with the time to get it ready. my dad wants the field back to its natural state for a now.

 

I can offer up the use of my house for the meeting. It's in Inver Grove Heights. I know that's a little distance for some of you on the north end of the cities, but it's available if it's needed.

I agree the "cheater" points should be rewarded to the event master if they do not run. I was the event master twice in 2009 and I can tell you at certain events it's just not logistically feasible for the event master to drive...and with the amount of work the event master needs to put into an event in order tomake it successful.....they should be rewarded somehow.

Dan is just a bit sore....anyone with the amount of seat time he has should be in the top three....yet for whatever reason he can't seem to do it. I think it's because his ego get's in his way, blinds his vision, and that typically results in him carelessly hitting a cone...resulting in a lower position for the year...BEHIND AMY!!!!!!:eek3:

Dan- enjoy 4th place..Next year I'll make sure there's an award for you. :laugh:

I'm excited to see some talk about new venues...they will be crucial this year as our Cannon Falls location won't be available throughout the entire year.

I'll definitely help out, am happy to eventmaster again as well. I've got the meeting on my calendar and unless there are any unforeseen conflicts with school I should be there!

Bump!!!! Due to a number of scheduling conflicts we have changed the time and location of the meeting. I've edited the post.

We are now scheduled for Jan 23rd at 4:30PM at the Davanni's in Arden Hills!!!!

this should make it a lot easier for everyone to attend!
