Race Schedule:August 13 -14 at Bark River, MI; September 3-4 at Crandon, WI; September 15 at Chicagoland Speedway, IL. http://crandonoffroad.com/index.php/home/42-fp-rnp/154-torc-rallycar-to-partner-on-rallycross-events Anyone know if the Crandon, WI event is still on for Labor Day weekend? The above link is the best info I can find, but that was posted awhile ago. They normally run trophy truck races that weekend. Will there be a separate course? Might make a weekend out of it and stay with my GF's parents that live in spitting distance from it.
The rallycross is being run in conjunction with the TORC races. So they'll squeeze the rally cars into the schedule. I'm not really clear on the course yet - but it will probably be integrated with the truck course a bit. I'm considering going to spectate one of them to see if it's worth building a car for or not.
http://www.rally-america.com/rallycross/competitors Scroll down to the TORC series. They list the spectator amount at 50k?! for the normal truck series. Imagine if just a quarter of those people are around to watch the rallycross action. This looks like it could be a fun weekend!
I wouldn't mind laying eyes on some of the "super rally" cars and their much fabled acceleration. Plus it would give me an opportunity to track down the American commentator and punch him in the mouth.
It will be interesting to see who even shows. It's after X-Games and since that's the main goal for most competitors, there usually isn't much budget left after X-Games.
