    Hello all,
    [IMG]
I am awaiting my new STI, sedan. It is on its way from CA and should be here this weekend. I have never been so excited about a car! Literally nerdy excited, like get all amped up, bother my wife with specifications and Ken Block videos and have trouble sleeping. Lol. I will throw up some pictures once I take delivery.

Happy to be part of the community,

    Peter

It is my first, I am such a Virgin. Never even owned a stick before! :)
Trading in my 2009 accord V6. Had infants, need a large back seat, now have toddlers, don't need so much back seat. Get to have what I want! Been dreaming of a WRX since 01!

    Thx for the welcome!

Congrats! It's such a good feeling bringing it home! Not sure how familiar you are with driving a stick being as how you haven't owned one before...my suggestion would be buying some $500 p.o.s to beat on for a bit.

Example: I worked at a Nissan/Subaru dealership. Mom buys kid a brand new 370Z. Kid never drove a stick but he wanted it custom and to look just like the 350Z in tokyo drift...$55k and 2 months later it was towed in with a fried clutch and a $5500 repair bill. He didn't feel so cool when after that his mom had me (a chick) give him a crash course in the parking lot across the street while his buddies watched.

Not sayin, just sayin. Congrats again!

If you need lessons on driving a manual, swing it on by and I would love to teach you in the new sti :)

On a side note, congrats on the new whip.

Best way to learn how to drive stick.... RENTAL CARS! It won't be the same as your STI but after a day of driving you should have less of a chance of replacing your clutch @ 30K

Can't wait to see some pics of the car!

Either that or just plan on that stage 3+ setup a little sooner than usual. ;)

Congrats Peter! I totally understand the nerdy excitement, I about crapped when my wife bought our 05 STi(yep she bought it as her car) And don't sweat the manual tranny, I learned on ours in 3-4 trips across a parking lot. I did have a motorcycle first so learning a car was really easy. If you know the basic mechanics of what the clutch and shifter does it'll come to ya pretty easily. I also find our subaru easier than any other MT I've driven.
