Hey all, I have not been around here in a while, a very long while actually, and have a question for the group that has been paying attention that last couple of years. Full disclosure - I have not been paying attention to whats happening to the WRX/STI models. I have a '02 bugeye that I may have to part with, largely involuntarily, and may now have a line on a 2011 WRX premium 5 door. What is the feeling on these? I know 2008's aren't too highly regarded but beyond that I got nothing. Any way: Good Cars? Maintenance issues? Things to look for or avoid? Must have upgrades? Thanks!
Not real sure on the maintenance issues for the 11 to 14s, but I like the way they look over the 08 to 10 (front ends look kinda weird). I would just get a down pipe and get it tuned. If you want some sound get a cat back for it, I would put a front lip on it (easy to put on and cheap and makes it look much nicer). Then throw on some mud flaps if you're into those and a set of wheels for summer and put winter tires on the stockies and you should be set.
Also, around the 90 k mile mark the valves may get issues, I had my exhaust valves go out around then (2006 wrx). A compression test wouldn't be a bad idea.
