It kinda looks like the fender flares went on as a complete afterthought, it kinda makes the center section of the car look a little too boxy for me, at least in that picture.
Isnt someone on here doing that to there 10 wrx? Thought I saw that here, maybe it was nasioc. Still not sure if it looks quite right to me. Then again I didnt car for the 09 the first time I saw it and now I own one!
It looks kind of like the 2010 legacys to me. there is alot going on on the front end of that car, and none of it is big fog lights.
Wow, I love it. I really thought they gimped the sedan by taking away all it's mean body lines. This brings them back in full form! Now, will the "hatch" follow the trend of the older wagons and not get the fender flares of it's sedan brethren?

This angle shot reminds me of a scion and the back end without the spoiler makes it look like a Kia. This doesn't appeal to me as a rally inspired car as they call it the WRX.

yeah i dont like the sedan look either, im leaning more towards the hatch as well (but i didnt like the hatch when i first saw it so maybe the 2011 will grow on me)
this is kind of what I was referring to, I saw this on NASIOC and someone else (thought it was someone here) is attempting to take on this project on their 2010 wrx.
They make new WRX look and perform like STI. They better come up with some power bump for STIs or they would not sell at all in 2011. I might trade my 08 for one of those 2011 WRX
I would personally love to see a 350/350 STI or a special edition 400hp model like they get in the UK.
cool, this means i can get a 2009 WRX hatch for alot less now! I am just not feeling the sedan. It looks like it is trying too hard. Can't complain about the wider track though. +1 on what the STI will look like.
Yes, this reminds methe Eric Carlyle book about the chameleon that got all the body parts it thought were so awesome on all the other animals, then it realized it was a confused chameleon. It looks funny.
i agree. the 08+ impreza 1/4 panel looks so huge without the flares. just a big chunk of blank space. now the flares break up that space and make the side of the car a lot more interesting.
I dunno. I think it looks kind of generic. I think they need to go back to the 04-05 and think about what made that particular model so damn beautiful. It's a fine car. I'd drive it if someone gave it to me, but I prefer that front facia with the hatchback. Why no redesign of the facia after 3 years? I think it speaks to the current design team that they have to sell an accessory for the 08+ grill that takes the ugly off.
Well, it's an improvement over the mundane styling on the '08+, but like someone else said, the look feels more street-inspired then rally. That's my $.02 .
