Hi this is my first time at this show. I'm currently here for training and a bunch of us decided to attend afterwards. Must of my pictures are still uploading so I'll post a few now and will provide some more when I get back home and thoughts about the event.
I have much better picture but I'm using the hotels WiFi, so ias you see they're not the best quality. But enjoy
Sorry pal I don't know if it will. The new V6 with 3 electric motors share very little if any of the old car.
Here's some interesting facts I learned from our guest speaker who . 1. Detroit is the US Premier AutoShow, the largest in the country and second is NY and LA. 2. There is an agency in FL who hires and trains all the ushers and models you see at these events. They get trained months in advance and get to test drive these cars so they can sound credible on stage. In Germany they expect the female ushers to walk around all day in 3" heels. 3. Some of these cars arrive directly from the manufacturer just days sometimes minutes prior to just being finished off the assembly line and will continue their drying process while on the show floor. 4. They have found that on average a seat will have aged 15 years after an Autoshow with the thousands of people climbing in and out of these car. They often will have a few spares readily available for replacement as these cars tour the country. I had received a few requests and one of them was to take pictures of the models. We'll I was too busy making my way around the busy show on it's first day of opening to the public so I only got a few...mr. Josh. Overall I liked this Autoshow over all the rest I've been to primarily do to the layout in how the show floor was designed, interactive resources, volume and knowledgeable staff. I spent 15 mins talking to the staff at the Nissan DeltaWing booth and got a lot of info. If you've ever wondered just how big a REALLY FAST RACE CAR is you'd be surprised. Standing there in front of a Red Bull F1 Infinity car made me appreciate my small stature in how these drivers can fit into the cockpit. The car is HUGE and the aerodynamics is execrating. Below you'll find the link to my photo's, let me know if you it's not working. Enjoy! http://s302.beta.photobucket.com/user/musashiracing/library/
At least you didn't post any pics of Subaru's ugly ass line-up. Much disappoint about only 3 inch heels in Germany. Hope the US models are 6 inch.
The only thing that caught my eye in the Subaru booth was the new Forester. There were no STI's there to checkout. Some models were wearing stale-toes and stilts, lots and lots of eye candy. lol
I have been wanting that Stingray since they revealed it... It's bound to be a purchase next year for me!
Interesting fact #1 - the Chicago Auto Show boasts that it's the largest. Perhaps they just mean in square feet? Either way, I've been to both the Detroit and Chicago Auto Shows. I would have to say that the Detroit show was nicer than the Chicago show. We went to Chicago last year, but it's been 5 or 6 years since I've been to NAIAS.
Our guest speaker started working for Ford then decided to start working with BMW in 1998. He was in charge of designing and organizing the Auto Show. He just retired in 2005, it was fascinating to hear how much involvement he had in the industry.
I was there for the press/supplier days. Nothing too exciting this time 'round. Here are a few of my pics:
St Louis Park has already started using this new cruiser.. no more familiar halogen crown vic headlights... these things look like a TSX approaching in your rear view. I gotta say though, color me excited for the used cop car market in a few years.
