Nemadji Trail Spring - May 18, 2013, Duquette, MN We are happy to announce the 2013 Nemadji Trail Rally Series. The Nemadji Trail events were established to provide a low-cost, low-pressure, high-value experience for regional competitors, and that goal remains the same. The Course As with past events, the 2013 Nemadji Trail Spring will utilize the “Park Truck Trail” in the Nemadji State Forest. In a departure from tradition, this year’s NT Spring event will be held as a single Coefficient 2 rally, rather than the historic pair of C1 mini-events. This change allows the event to offer more stage miles (50% more than in 2012), and make the most efficient use of changing sanctioning costs. Total course distance: 70.10 miles Number of special stages: 6 Number of gravel stages: 6 Total distance of Special Stages: 49.74 miles Type of road surface: Hard packed class 5 gravel, occasionally rocky, tight and twisty. Longest distance between fueling stops: 43.43 miles (33.16 stage, 10.27 transit) Notes Also carrying over from last year will be the availability of optional organizer provided notes (with mandatory recce) at no additional cost to the competitors. A traditional “tulip” routebook will also be available. Sanctioning The Nemadji Trail 1 Sanction and Insurance will be provided by Rally-America and will be run under the Rally-America 2013 rulebook and operations guidelines. Payment schedule Early entry will be $280 ($289 if paid via PayPal) Full payment schedule & details to be announced shortly. Future Events Nemadji Trail Summer - June 29, 2013 (Tentative Date) Nemadji Trail Winter - December 7, 2013 (Tentative Date) This is a fun little Performance Rally event, based out of Duquette, MN, halfway between Banning State Park and Jay Cook State Park. You can easily drive to the event from the Twin Cities in the morning, and be back in your own bed the same night. As always, we are looking for volunteers to help marshal the stage road, and work the start and finish controls. The event usually even provides dinner (tacos, or sloppy joes, or something similar) for the competitors and volunteers. If you are on Facebook, you can visit this https://www.facebook.com/events/170963259717550/ to unofficially RSVP. When worker registration opens up, I'll post the official link here too.
