I don't believe they ever made a 17" winterforce.... I called NUMEROUS times last year.

Firestone made some changes to the Winterforce lineup this year. Not so much changes to the design (none as far as I know), but they started branding them as Firestone tires (before they were unbranded) and added more sizes.

If you went back several years, you'd find that they also used to be Firestone branded, but a completely different design, more of a traditional knobby snow tire than the modern style ice traction tire. The current tire is something of a hybrid between that design and an ice tire like a Blizzak or a Hakka.

These are also exceptional dirt & gravel tires, and great for RallyCross. Perhaps these will fit a Forester?

They'd fit my wife's Altima, but we already have Hakka RSi tires for that car.

No, they wont fit. And if they do, you WILL rub.

225/45/17 is the stock STi tire size.
A 215/65/17 would have a diameter that is about 3" larger, and a rolling circumference that is probably around 10 inches longer than stock. meaning your speedo would be waaaaaay off, and you'd have 3 extra inches of tire height to deal with in your fenders.

They would probably work on a Forester. Speedo might still be off, but it would fit.

I am not too worried about the speedo, as i have a GPS with an integrated accurate speedo. and i also have an adjustable coilover suspension which i could raise up to get some extra clearance.... still not sure if i wanna try...

What is the OD of the tire? I ran a 27 inch tire on my WRX.

Wow. They do make them in 17" sizes now. That's awesome. Hopefully they add some more relevant tire sizes to us Subaru owners soon. haha

The 215/55/17 tire wouldn't be all that bad, that's just barely over 26"
