Looking to sell my 225/45/17 Hankook Ventus RS2 tires. They have approximately around 50-60% tread life left. $100!

Can you please measure the tread depth. Also, check tirerack (or some other site) for specs. Every tire has a different beginning tread depth. Your estimation of 90% would mean 9.5+/32 on a tire that starts with 10/32... unless you're crazy enough to drive on them with less than 2/32 (many dump their non-summers at 4/32).

If you don't have a way to measure it (I think you can get free or cheap gauges at most tire stores), you can also use the coin test. If the tread goes up to George Washington's forehead (with the head pointed towards the tire) you have at least 4/32. If the tread only goes up the Abe Lincolns forehead, you only have 2/32.

I do have a tire gauge and can definitely measure them when I get home.

I ran these tires for 2 summers and even when they were almost down to cords they would still grip pretty good in the dry. This seems like a smokin' deal if you need some tires.

yeah I ran these when they first came out. I used them for autox (about 60 runs), 1/4 mile, 1 track day, and 12k street miles... they were at about 3-4/32 by then. They still gripped really really well in the dry but were sketchy at best in the rain on the street (coming from a tire that excelled at wet traction at full depth vs the competition).

Ok, hankooks have 5/32 tread life left. Kdw has 7.5/32 tread life left.

Purchased the kdw tire used and actually never really took a good look at them. Measured the tread depth, and it's at 7.5/32nd.

Hankooks are rated 9/32" and KDW's are 10/32" brand new.

If they're anything like the RS3 that replaced them, they should have a decent bit of life left. My RS3s are down to about 4-5/32 and they're just getting good and sticky (after a few thousand street miles and probably over 100 autox runs on them). I figure on running them to about 2/32.

Bump, still for sale! $100. I might even throw in another free tire (235/40/17 yokohoma es100 with some camber wear, but still useable for another summer).
