Can't believe I'm just finding this board. I started even before I had my DL with an '85 GL wagon. At 16, you try to kill a car and that Suby took everything I could throw at it and still asked for more. I was sold on the Subaru lifestyle way back then. I've moved on to nearly a dozen Suby's over the last almost three decades. I made the move to a non-beater with a '98 Outback, which succombed to the dreaded head gasket issue at 200k. Replaced it with an '08 Impreza. Meanwhile, I came across an '88 GL wagon and keep that as a fun crash around town/relive my youth vehicle and in two weeks will replace my Impreza with a '16 Outback.
