Hello all, been stalking this site along with nasioc.com for a bit and thought I should introduce myself since I seem to get wavves on the road all the time! Also, I am thinking about trying to sell the rex, but I have been flagged consistently on CL for some reason, so I took that as a sign to hang onto it for a bit... That is our 2006 Wagon with 81k miles, 5spd, hail damage on the hood, and cheerio crumbs in the back from our now 2yr old. Simple mods include: Perrin DP mated to an ebay cat back, STi BBS's, Perrin drop in air filter, mud flaps (does that count?), Cobb AP, Cobb turbo heat shield, nicer pads and rotors. Not all is perfect with the car: hail damage on the hood, stupid Cobb AP tune throws a code at WOT in 4/5th gear (overboost, WG solenoid), oil seepage from somewhere near the oil filter housing (but still haven't had time to diagnose more completely), and salvage title due to a front end fender bender. Car located in Saint Cloud and if you see us, we'll probably be in the right lane going under the limit. You will probably be hearing from me here sooner than later about trying to diagnose the oil drip and figuring out a tune!! Wait, can a car be tuned after having an AP tune? Maybe a question for another time and place. Anyway, HELLO and see you on the road!!!
In the title I should have said; 2nd Subaru: 2006 etc... This is our 2nd Subaru, the first being a 2004 wrb wrx sedan. I probably will not be a stranger since I want to figure the oil leak and tunage problems out before our 2nd kiddo comes at the end of May!! Thanks for the words.
'allo! Yes, you can tune it using the AP actually. Unless you mean you don't have the AP anymore. In which case, your ECU is probably locked and you have yourself a bit of a challenge...
I do still have the AP and am currently running the 'stage 2 91 oct' map. I know the requirements for this map are for a STOCK intake system and I have a Perrin drop in, but would the intake be drastically more efficient to throw the p0244 code (turbo wastegate, solenoid a/range performance which apparently equates to the turbo overboosting)? I am asking because I don't know... And please correct me if I am wrong! Oh yes, stock ride height FTW!!
You might want to try a 91 LWG map if they have it for your car. It's specifically used to address overboosting... Or get in contact with Nuke or Bullwinkle and have them do a proper custom tune for you.
