GrimmSpeed introduces the most complete and easy to use 3-Port Electronic Boost Solenoid available on the market. Our aftermarket boost controller allows you to raise the OEM boost levels in a quick and efficient manner. If you try to raise the boost on the weak OEM boost solenoid it will start to become unpredictable and unable to maintain proper and safe boost levels. Using our solenoid you are able to spool your turbo quicker and maintain a rock solid boost level. We have made our solenoid to withstand 120psi, way more than any Subaru will see.

Revolutionizing the Subaru boost solenoid market, we have created model specific install brackets that allow you to directly fit our Boost Solenoid into your Subaru for a factory fit. No more Zip-typing! We give you the factory fitment you have been waiting for.

Staying with the OEM fitment theme, our Boost Solenoid uses a Subaru style wiring harness so you can simply unplug your OEM solenoid andplug ours in. No more cutting the oem wiring and cripping wires together!

Also new to the Subaru boost solenoid market, we have used ultra low-profile hose fittings to keep the unit as small and clean as possible. The hose fittings are nickel plated brass so you don't have to worry about them snapping off like the plastic hose fittings!

    Features:
    • Direct plug and play into oem wiring.
MAC Valve has completely custom made the valve for us(only MAC valve on the market to be custom made for automotive tuning use).
    • Users can use AN fittings with the solenoid.
    • Mounting bracket so its a direct bolt on into factory location.
    • Low-profile brass hose fittings(small in size so its compact, no chance of breaking fittings like the plastic ones our competitors use).
    • Specifically designed by GrimmSpeed to work safely with the factory Subaru ECU (requires tuning) and to reliably handle the vibrations and temperatures of your engine bay!
    • The only direct “bolt in†design for all Subaru models. Direct bolt in mounting bracket and hardware included! (specify which model before ordering)
    • Includes plug and play harness, no wire splicing required and easy to return to stock.
    • Allows you to raise the factory boost levels with adding more response and more control.
    • Allows you to get full boost sooner.
    • Faster response and greater flow than any other valve out there. (by more than 10%!)
    • Nickel plated brass fittings. (unlike the competitors failure prone plastic fittings)

This BCS will handle all your boost control needs no matter what your power goals are.

Easy for your shop or tuner to tune!

3 bracket variations fit all Turbo Subaru models!

    Tuner's comments
    AWD Tuning:
"The GS 3 port boost control solenoid provides rapid boost response while maintaining the ability to make acute adjustments via turbo dynamics. While many other boost control solenoids react to adjustments too fast which can make them difficult to control with as much finesse as the stock bleed system. This solenoid can make micro-adjustments at the edge of target boost not only providing better spool, but overall more control. Additionally, the solenoid is plug n' play so you do not have to splice into the wiring harness for it's installation. "

    Bullwinkle Tuning:
"The GrimmSpeed BCS is a compact, well designed unit. It's design as a 3-port solenoid provides better boost control then the stock bleed-type style. The unit is easy to tune for, as it behaves like many of the other 3-port solenoids already on the market.

Often, this enables a tuner to cut mapped wastegate duty cycles in half. This change in WGDC gives a tuner more granularity when tuning, and can yield much improved boost curves. In addition, the 3-port design often significantly improves spool.

Lastly, the GrimmSpeed BCS is almost silent when acting in the engine bay, unlike some of it's competitors. A great product, one I would recommend."

Justin, you guys come out with some really great stuff. No doubt. How extensive is the testing of your products before you release them to the public?

Nice. Too bad my OE harness has already been spliced for a GMBCS (emo). Very clean looking.

thanks! As far as product development this solenoid has been in R&D since the beginning of last summer. Prototypes were sent out to a handful of tuners around the country about 3 months ago to test.

yeah definitely the downfall of many BCSs..you must hack off your oem wiring. i have an extra oem harness in the shop but currently we are using it for electrical quality control for these bad boys..if i come by another one i can get it to you.

Fail. You don't have to wreck your stock harness to run a GMBCS. Just solder/crimp on a set of spades on the GM pigtail and plug them into the stock harness.

However, for the high end BCSs out there, the Grimmspeed one looks pretty nice. I'd get one before a Prodrive one.

Never a fan of hacking factory wiring harnesses! GAH!

I would prefer to cut the harness off the factory BCS and splice that half to the GM BCS. That way you can always go back with no damage to the factory wiring.

Hehe, never proclaimed to be a wiring guru :). Not hard to recrimp the stock harness back on, Sean.

As quoted, this is a very nice 3-port BCS unit. I've been running one on my car for testing for a number of months now.

I know, I know, beggars can't be choosers.

Back OT - I'd buy one of these GS gadgets...maybe even to get rid of my GMBCS racket (if Justin finds me a new OE wiring harness...).

So I'm assuming that I need a retune for this unit? What gains is it going to provide over the stock unit on a standard stage 2 wrx with stock injectors/turbo??

haha ok, i'll keep an eye out.

yes sir, retuning is required when switching solenoids out. main benefits are quicker spool up, less spiking, rock solid boost curve.

i think we just determined over on RS25 that yes you can use our 02-05 wrx bracket, rotate it 90 degrees and it will bolt right up to the GC strut tower.

Received mine yesterday. Nice looking product.

Maybe I'm just overlooking something here, I'm not sure if different cars use different size vacuum hose or anything, but would it hurt to tuck 3' of vacuum tubing in with the unit? Seems like another good way to advertise this unit as "plug-and-play".

Serves me right for starting to put it in at 9PM :)

This was a great upgrade! Boooooooooost. :yumyum:

The stock BCS had lots of trouble with rolling on ~50% pedal, searching for boost for a second or two before it got steady. Now it's rock-solid in each gear. Thanks for the nice product!

Port 3 needs to either be vented to atmosphere or it can be re-routed into the intake stream.
