was at discount tire in burnsaville ((42 / 5))today, and they have 3 rims (not the worlds best condition) for sale at 100 bucks a rim. so if anyone with a 2004 needs a spare rim for a hundred bucks.. it's a good deal. (will only fit an 04)
gold... all marks are buety marks it seems.. my buddy was going to buy one tonight, but realized the bolt pattern didn't fit his 2005. one of the rims is so minor that the tire would cover up the minor mark... the other two look like minor curb rash at the tip of one of the rims, but It's from when they put the clamps on the rim to pop the tire off... so if you don't care about cosmetics... good rims for an 04 the yare also missing the center BBS symbol, so you would have to track down one of thse or pop one off your old rim if need be.
those of you who buy a rim, let everyone know so people don't keep buggin the people over there to see if the rims are still available If they fit my car I would have bought one for a spare... but i'm getting a free new rim anyway as tires plus damaged mine....
I called this morning. They have all 3 wheels there but they are now asking $250 per wheel. So I am going to pass.
screw that noise... tell them you were qouted 100.00 a rim (under used equipment), especially if your going to buy all 3....and you would like to get THAT price. they can't raise the price because theres a demand on some used rims in a day. also remind them that they are damaged rims, and if you don't buy them... they will end up recycling them.
They are probably that much at the dealer. It seems they sell on Nasioc for like $1000-1200 used with stock tires for a set of 4 though. $100 per wheel is a good deal. $250 is not. I will try calling them again but they probably won't budge. The same thing happened to me with a 6sp trans. This salvage yard was selling one for $700 and it had a crack in the tail housing, I told them I would take it and they said sure, we'll call you back with a shipping quote. They never called back and when I did they said, "yeah, we decided to send that out to get repaired, the new price is $3000". Suck!!
The damage on those 3 rims is from the techs using pound on style wheel weights. The car that this happened to belongs to my co-workers buddy. They had to replace all 3 of his damaged rims because of it. That sucks that they are trying to get more money out of those wheels now.
