Well, this is my first installation of American Muscle. Wow, crazy going from working on Subarus to American cars....everything is different:eek3: Rick (Silver03) recently purchased a 84' camaro that had a 383 stroker motor and all sorts of other goodies. (Donor car) Motor only has 1500 miles on it. We've been swapping the motor, tranny, rear end, etc etc... He's been planning to put the motor in his 86? IROC-Z convertible here's some quick pics. btw- 425hp out of this new motor:yumyum:
love it, i wish i would have documented my olds 403 swap better...oh well! maybe you clowns can see it this summer.
It's been a ton of fun. I keep giving Rick crap though. "you can polish it and polish it....but a turd is a turd.":laugh::laugh::laugh: seriously though. I hope this car is fast...CORRECTION...this thing better be fast or he'll never hear the end of it.
Chris in Winona...his car. This has been a huge learning experience...now all we have left is rear brake lines, all the wiring, AC, header install, wide band install, exhaust monkey business, misc engine electrical and cooling hookups and buy 2 new rims with the proper offset. Piece of cake right Dave? Dave?
Also let me know if you need any help. I have just a little bit of experience doing what your doing. Especially on the wiring. I gutted all my stock computer stuff out when I converted to speed density.
bump this old thread. rick, a couple others, and me have been slowly working on this car for a bit. With the recent help of a wiring genius the custom MY84 wiring with the holly commander to a MY88 conversion is almost complete. (I think i got that right) We got the car up and running a couple weeks ago. It's pretty much done except a couple gauges and a few loose ends. I think rick might be dressing up the car even further with some fresh wheels & rubber. Man this thing is going to a sexy car. Rick, I admit...I'm so jealous!:yumyum: (finally, i admit it to him) This is a quick video of the car running for the 2nd or 3rd time. Man, it sounds like a monster. It's running straight of the exhaust manifold.
