    Sorry Jordan for the cursing...

yea you guys remember that knock i had going?? yea....KABOOM!!!! i think my morot is gone. I was driving down 35w Southbound just cruising and all of a sudden boom! thought it was a I/C hose so i pulled over to look at it.. nothing wrong. tried statring it once and all i hear were the sound of "wrenches" coming from my motor. So now I am towing it to my house. So who here knows what i should do about this? Who can pluck the motor out??? Thanks guys.

Hard to speculate until you get it pulled out and torn down. Your current block may not be salvageable...same for the heads, who knows. Did you ever get it compression tested after the episode a couple weeks ago...I can't remember.

If your heads are OK, they will bolt up to the EJ257 shortblock and will work. Not exactly optimal in terms of flow I don't think, but it would work.

Sorry to hear of your loss. When tuned properly, an Sti shortblock will give you fatter low-end torque and better top-end, too. Hope you get it fixed! Did your brother learn his lesson?

Sounds like what my engine did. I jumped head first in and did the swap myself. Good luck, let me know if you decide to do it yourself. I'll help out as much as i can.
