Its getting to that time of year where we can start enjoying the fall colors. For the last several years we have done the drive down to Wabasha and crossed over to Wisconsin and take some of the wonderful roads out there. This year we will be reducing the pace from previous years. I have spoken to several members who have expressed concern that the pace was a little to fast. I have to tend to agree with some of the incidents in the past that could have been avoided with a reduction in the pace. This year I am willing to lead two weekends. Oct. 7th Oct. 21st By popular demand another weekend is added of Nov. 4th Meet at Border Books (University/Hamline) We will be leaving at 9:00am sharp. Come with a full tank of gas and some munchies. There will be stops along the way about every hour. We will meet the 507 crowd at the usual spot as in years past. I would also like to invite members to volunteer to lead an additional weekend say on Nov. 4th. I have talked to several guys who have said that they know some nice roads down south and I would like to see if we could utilize some local knowledge of you southerly folk. So if you can put together some nice scenic twisty roads in your area something like a 40-50 mile route down south post it up and lets see what you have. 2006: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12809 2005: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8874 2004: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6273

I would also like to suggest if possible to find a place where we can stop that has a great scenic view, perhaps somewhere high up on a hill top, in additional to the park on the river and pumkin patch fields. lol
I was just telling beth I want to go on one of these this year because I had so much fun last year. I will check my calender and get back to you.
Im in for the 21st. Can't make the 7th. What prize do I get for being the first 507'er to raise my hand? Just an observation.....we're kinda getting overly large turn-outs for the QT parking lot in Wabasha. Might suggest trying to plan a different place. Just a suggestion. Steve
Hum I will have to think about that. Do you remember any good spots besides the scienic overlook in Lake City?
Your prize is you get to be the first one to drive behind me, LOL. Should we move the spot to the grocery store lot across the street?
OB1 I really dont, but if you can give me a zip code of our normal route, I'd be happy to do some checking around. Looking forward to the tour as always. This time plz dont leave cheech behind! LOL
If my schedule allows it I plan on attending both dates. One of the days may be in a friends Evo if thats alright with you ladies.
Might not hurt! I seem to remember several old poopy-panted grandpa types getting a little annoyed at our hanging out in the parking lot. We don't want to draw a bunch of attention to ourselves by being the talk of the Wabasha Retirement Center. And...yeah....I'll pass on riding shotgun behind you. I like driving in the back with the rest of the sane, slow, old bastards....like myself. Steve
There is the Grocery store across the street and also a large gravel lot/park area behind Kwik Trip. Either one could hold 20+ Cars. and then the local ricer can drive closer and get a better view than last year. I'm getting all excited already, can't wait to have a nice fun uneventful run......
HAHA.. maybe!! Naw this year my tires should hopefilly still have a decent amount of rubber!! But I will be going to the track this wed. so i might be laying some super smokey burnouts!!! haha. BTW how much are training wheels for cars??:hsugh:
I would like to be present for both... But put me down for the 7th for sure as that is the Vike's BYE week!!!! I missed out last year and I was kind of pissed.... I want to tear up some roads! -Marc
I'm in... but would prefer to ride shotgun so I can take pictures. I don't want the lead car or the last car. I want to ride with someone who can go either way and give me the shots I'm looking for. Who's up for the challenge?
can you stick with us throughout the whole day? if so, you can ride with me...but not if you have a problem with smoke. (cig smoke that is...)
If anyone going on oct7 is whilling to take a passanger let me know i would like to ride along. Just pm me. thanks
I don't have any plan for the listed dates so I plan to ride shotgun through the whole trip. Now about smoking... yes... I do have a dumb allergy reaction to over exposure of smoking. It causes me to cough for 2 to 3 weeks :emo: No pun intended towards yall smokers though. I can bare it if it's within a few minutes but if I have to endure whole day then my lung would kick my back end so hard I'll be coughing like there's no tomorrow. I'll check with some of the other guys who is going to see if they got space... or if one of my Audi buddy is going then I'll ride with him and take the time to shoot some photos for the group.
It's not a race so you don't have to worry. It's just a soft sailing drive to enjoy the Autumn season with the MNSubie group. There maybe a few spirited drive here and there but nothing you can't keep up with... or it's not expected that you do. Just drive at your pace and keep up is all thats expected... and if we see other way behind... we'll slow the pace down till everyone catches up... there will be traffic so it's expected. To those who hasn't gone to one of these drive... please be aware of your surrounding and how you drive on the road because you're not there just for yourself but also representing a group of close friends of MNSubaru. Your action does speak a lot on how others see us as a whole.
don't know any of ya but I love motoring! I'm in on the 21st. Gotta a full weekend MINI run on the 5 - 7th that I can't miss!! +1 for the old, slow guys...er, folks.
I'm in. Unfortunately, I cover lots of territory in SE MN, SW WI, NE IA and NW IL. Lots of fun roads - not sure how much of the flood damage has been fixed in the area though.
I'm down for the 7th to see how it goes and if it's awesome I'll be down for the ones after. I'm excited!
Yo Smiley Glad to hear you are coming along again this year. I really enjoyed looking at the pics from last year's run. Good times ~ for sure.
