i think the internet is where you can get one i'm using a t60 and it works, lol (and no I haven't stripped it.)
sears is where I got mine. If you can wait till next week and if it is only for a day you can barrow mine. I think I have a 70, now my brain is thinking 45, I will check when I get back in town.
what do you need a 70 torx for? and roughyl how big is it? there is huge torx on my brat for the exhuast manifold.
^^T70 is for changing the front diff (or tranny? can't remember) on some newer Subarus. Not sure what else it might be used for. I have an auto, so not sure what the manuals are like. but a T60 works just fine like Nuke said. I went ahead and ordered a T70 bit for future use online somewhere (forgot where). But there about 5 dollars or something.
yeah thats it. i remember now that i ordered mine from autobarn.net. $7 bucks for a Lisle made bit with shipping at around 6 bucks. Shipping from my experience was kind of slow. Took about 10 business days to get to my house. or you could try a snap on truck and possibly spend around 35 dollars.
Even my old 99 OBL has a Torx for the front diff drain plug. Rear is still just a 3/8" drive ratchet for check/fill and drain.
No Problem. I couldn't find one at the Woodbury NorthernTool. But you might have luck elsewhere. If not, let me know.
Didnt need one... Everything I read said you need a t70...I actually get under there and its a 13/16" plug! Whats up with that?
Transmission drain plugs changed to T70 during the 04 model year I believe. Something about Jiffy Lube or Valvoline routinely mistaking the tranny plug for the engine oil plug and then overfilling the engine oil and leaving the tranny bone dry.
i aparently had a smart, cool tech for my 30k service, because i looked up that i was billed for a drain plug... he switched back to a regular 23mm plug
