Black, auto, very clean...FWIW. I noticed that the grille was gone and the spoiler was gone. Otherwise all there...someone traded it in on cash for clunkers..

    I thought that "cashforclunkers"

Meh, they just tore up the bearings and maybe the cylinder walls. Its still usable for a baller style motor...

I don't think that car woulda been able to qualify for the real clunkers program because of the gas mileage.

they put 2 quarts of silicone in it after they drain the oil, then give it hell until it seizes. so anything that oil touches is gummed up.

If it was manual, it did not qualify. If it was an auto, it did qualify. I just checked, still sad though.

They use sodium silicate, which chews the motor up. The block itself could still be used.

whats the point in locking all of the motors? The car is getting scrapped anyway. I mean, I hope to god no one is trying to salvage "fuel guzzling motors" out of wrecker cubes of cars.

The vehicle is allowed to sit in a salvage yard for 6 months, then it has to be crushed.
