http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0479891371&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT in the listing it says the item is in Az, but in the descriotion it says the car is in Minnetonka. anyne here ever seen this car?
MAYBE RACEWIND? Looks like it is actualy a 1979 sti from the misstitled decription. I think it looks like a quick inventory sell off.
"Has the selectable DCCD transmission- you can choose locked front wheel drive, AWD or strictly rear wheel drive and anything in between!" What complete bollocks ! This is one of the worst descriptions of DCCD that I've ever seen.
What is the deal with these guys? There stuff sounds good.... but how are they able to get JDM legal on the roads in MN? Leagally, I doubt.....
yup.. dont worry, some rich tonka kid will have daddy buy itfor him, and blow it up in a week and we will never ever have to see it again
So: Verison 3-4 bumper, V5-6 hood, Standard grill, engine that matches the car? I was under thee impression (since I own one) that the V3-4 motors came with distributers instead of coilpacks? Also: it has a automatic gauge cluster and would have white gauges if it was an sti. So. . . wait now, what?
No EJ series motor has a distributor. Even if it did you could still have coil packs. Cam angle sensor > distributor.
Yeah that car looks familiar. I saw it driving down CR-15 last week and stopped in to investigate. [not so secret spy photo]
So you would or wouldn't be able to drive this on the roads? I would still love to have this car! Think they'ed take a bugeye on trade in??? lol!
ive heard that if there is no LHD option for the car then it is legal to drive it as RHD...i may be wrong though. correct me if i am?
Left or Right hand drive has no bearing on legality of the car. And the cluster was likely swapped so it could pass inspection by some state
actually it has been spotted on the lots at minnetonka imports that's most likely where this one came from...i saw the owner of tonka imports driving it around and i was like does that thing have a small front mount? wtf? sure as hell right hand drive and everything
yeah... I see it every tuesday I work in the area... Haven't stop to take a look... Looks the real deal from the street...
definitely not in scottsdale. can tell you that from the background in the pictures. Scottsdale is nothing but shade trees and palms.
I've never seen a firewall mounted carburetor, but I guess you see something new every day. I could swear that those are A/C lines though. Those crazy Subaru engineers...
I called racewind when I was looking for a car, they said they had a 97 STI for 18k with 40k something miles, that's probly it. I think it was at cars and coffee this month. thats where I got their number from. They had business cards in the engine bay.
Dude, you really should talk to these clowns on the phone. It's an absolute riot some of the stuff they will vomit forth from their mouths. You can talk them into corners and just hear them squirming through the phone.
Sarcasm meter must be broken One arrow is going from text to part, the other is going from part to text.
I went and looked at it, its clean as hell, all original japanese parking stickers and everything, they also have a sti wagon with what looked like work vs-xx's on it, that was a 97 i believe.....both cars were and are dead sexy...saw them today actually. owners of racewind are a bit funky but nice guys, sweet cars too.
Yeah they are weird over there. They're nice guys though. I have been getting my car modded by them. I'm going to ask to test drive this car. They are letting me drive a Audi S4 for my loaner car so that's pretty tight lol.
Best of luck to you on that one. You're still letting those hack artists work on your car after they screwed the pooch the first time? From what I've heard I wouldn't trust those *******es with a jar of peanut butter, let alone my car. You'd be better off getting your car towed from there to a decent shop, not a bunch of rtards running around with wrenches. Take the advice given to you in your other thread. Get a decent set of people who actually know what they're doing to work on your car and forget about a 12 year old car that you're going to have a bitch of a time finding parts for, and God Himself probably doesn't want to know how they got it over here and how you're going to get it titled.
I road in this car and it is fast and the handling is mind boggling. I just would never do business with these guys again.
This car did have a lot of aftermarket (though possibly through Subaru) suspension goodies. I know it has springs and full underbody bracing. I would like to ride in it to see how it handles compared to my GC.
