98 "L" F/S....

Contimplating selling my 98 Impreza "L". I have had it since '05. It has only seen 4 MN winters, as I bought it in Oregon, and it was in Vegas/Pheonix before then, and I have only had it here since '08. It has 208,000 miles on it, I have had it since it had 68,500 on it. It has Eibach 1" lowering springs on it, and KYB AGX adjustable dampening struts on it, and a K&N air filter. Other than that, it is stock, and has been well taken care of. I have done all regular maintenance on it since I bought it, and is in perfect running condition. The car does have a few minor dings, and scratches, and is just starting to get a couple small spots of surface rust on it. would be a great first car for a kid, or a good work/winter beater. I will provide pics if you are interested. The car is red, has an auto tranny that shifts just like it did when I bought it. I am asking $1800 (I wont sell it unless I get what I think it's worth, The car still runs like it did 135,000 miles ago when I got it.)

 

How are the headgaskets? is it the 2.2l motor or the 2.5 motor?

 

It's the 2.2l, never had any head gasket issues at all. It's a solid runner.

 

I am sorry for doin this, but my Dad has asked to borrow the car for a little while because his cavalier has been acting up. So the car will not be for sale as of now. I will repost once my dad is done using it. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Lol. Nope, never made any promises. I'm hopefully gonna be buying a 2.5i next week and told my dad I was gonna try to sell my "L" and he said he needed a loaner for a bit.

Well I'm picking up my new ride tomorrow. So this car is officially for sale. It is up to 213,xxx miles. Power steering rack has ripped boots, and leaks a little. And is due for a timing belt.

 

Ha. I'd have more fun running a demo derby with it, than let it go that cheap.

 

I'll try to get some pics up this weekend. I haven't been home before dark to get any decent pics. And $650 is not even close to what I'll let it go for.

 

What kind of mpg does this thing get?

 

I get 27-28 MPG with it.

 

I like it... Waiting for pictures... Very interested in it. Its even better that its an auto. I'm tired of driving a manual for a daily.

Power window/locks? A/c? Heat? Cruise?

 

Power windows/locks. Heat and a/c both work good. The car did not come with cruise.

 

Interested in a trade? I have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee with almost 200k. Solid vehicle with new tires. Runs great with rocker panel rust mainly on the driver's side. 5.2 V8.

There is a small dent on the trunk, and a small dent on one of the fenders. And some random assorted door dings here and there. And a few light stains on the interior. But for a 14 year old car, with nearly 214,000 miles, it is in really good shape.

Haha, yeah. They seem to be my calling. Didn't care what color the 98 was when I got it. Didn't want another red one, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my 06. My first ride was actually a 1967 Chevy short box 4 wheel drive pickup. And it was reddish orange. Lol

Forgot to mention the car has a pioneer Deck (about 3 years old) cd's have barely been played in it because I bought it for the USB cable and auxiliary port it has. Mainly ran my iPod and phone thru the deck. And the the car is also wired for a sub, but the sub itself is not included.

 

If only I had seen this before I bought my Subie, oh well, good luck with the sale

 

If the car isn't gone by this weekend, its going on criagslist. Just was hoping to see it go to someone who has a passion for subies, and will take care of it as I have for 7+ years.
