http://www.teslamotors.com/index.php?js_enabled=1 It is powered by a 100% electric motor that produces 248 HP and has a 13,500 RPM redline. Suhweet. :yumyum: Too bad this car only targets tree huggers who can afford it... not for the common dayworker.
Traction control works a lot better in an electric car too because you can change the amount of torque being put down much more quickly. You also don't really need a transmission or a clutch, which makes the thing a lot more efficient. To bad lithium ion batteries are so expensive. There's this thing, too: http://www.wrightspeed.com/x1.html
I was waiting till someone got on the tesla train.. good friend allready has his order in. I know I want one.
Would be a fun AutoX car. Other than that it would be pretty much useless. If you are constantly accelerating hard the batteries will be dead in 40-50 miles. It's only if you drive it lightly that the range will be 200+ miles.
it was proven the bats range on racecar tacktics are 230 miles per 4 hr charge... driving like a princes gives you 280mpc. autox = bad times in an almost total carbon fiber body. 80% of bodywork is carbon fiber. or kevlar
