LOL Awsome pictures showing us how its done. Looks like you successfully executed that turn going sideways. WOOHOOO Great job!
Matt D. really hated the cones in that very same section of the course. He punted one so hard a spectator retrieved it for the corner worker there.
Now that's what I like to hear. LOL They too need a way to participate ya know. I am assuming this was the Sep 28 CVSCC 2 Autocross, Chippewa Valley Tech College, Eau Claire (MAC providing support) event? I was stuck at work, but you all can feel free to share some stories. Looks like a really nice wide open surface for an Autocross.
Wow, I can't believe I missed this. Now I understand why I saw all the cones in the parking lot as I drove past I thought they were just setting up for some truck driving course or something like they always have in that lot Frick my life...
http://www.wqow.com/global/video/flash/popupplayer.asp?ClipID1=2966387 At the 20 second mark I went by in the foreground. Ahh times, I believe I was 62nd so you can look from there. More pics http://www.cvscc.org/gallery/cvtc09-08/IMG_4417_Small
I heard about that but didn't think it was true until I heard it repeated a few times from different people. For those that weren't there, there was a section of the course that was a sweeping left hander into a straight on a freshly sealed section of the blacktop. There was a single cone on the outside of that short straight to prevent people from going out wide. I came through the corner good, got on the gas to accelerate down the straight and the rearend came out. I stuck with it knowing I was going to hit that cone anyway and hit the cone so hard with my rear passenger side door that it sounded like someone slapped my car with a cone as hard as they could. I hope someone got a picture or video of that, between the tire smoke, sliding through the chalk line and the cone flying it had to have been an amusing sight. My best time of the day was a 46.5. A little more suby love. Does anyone else have pictures from the weekend? I must have seen at least 10 if not 20 slr walking around.
