We just got back from 10 days in Japan. Here's a few pics. Sorry, no Subaru pics. I found out on the 2nd to last day that Zero Sports was really close to where we were, but I'm not sure if there would be anything to see if I visited there anyway.

But we had a great time, the purpose of the trip was to go to a wedding. I didn't post any of those pics though. We also did some sight seeing in Nagoya and Kyoto and watched the last day of Cormorant fishing on the Nagara river.

We had a blast. We ate tons of great food. Lots of fish and fresh vegetables from the gardens. We stayed busy the whole time. I think I took ober 700 pics total. It's good to be home though.

View the album for all the pics.
(I'm too lazy to copy/paste them all in here)

View of Gifu and Nagara river from the hiking trail to Gifu Castle.

    ????????

I used to live in and around Nagoya, and actually not too far from Gifu castle at one time. Its really nice to go in late March/Early April to catch the cherry blossoms. The Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute a good stop too.

    ?????????????????????????????????

    ????????????????????????????????????????

eh, that's probably filled with tons of mistakes.
That's cool though, I love that area. I'd love to live in Japan again, I was there 10 years ago in Akita for a while.

anyway, yeah, we were in gifu in march too, but we didn't see the cherry blossoms, only plum blossoms. I kinda wanted to go to the toyota museum, but we didn't quite have time.

Close enough to understand. How long did you live there? Exchange program, right?

Thanks for posting pics of the old country!

    ????????????????????MSUA?????????

Yea, last year I was living in Ichinomiya about 30 min south of Gifu. IIRC the blossoms were in peak around the last week of March into the first week of April in that area. I just came back in the middle of this last April.

    Small world...

Were you there for work/visit/school this past stay?

Cool. yeah. I went to msua.

Yeah, we were in Gifu in the middle of march this spring, so before the cherry blossoms. We weren't planning to go back so soon, but we had a wedding to attend there last week.

Well all I have to say now is holy crap.

I went to school there too the last year that it was still MSUA (02-03). Man I love that place. Want to go back and see how it is now since it was handed over to the prefectural gov. Good old banna-fi, cycling terminal, kawabata, wada eki, ect... lol

Wow yeah, I remember those places.

Yeah, I was there in '98. It's been a while. I had a great time. I wish I would have stayed longer, but I also was glad to get done with college and graduate.

This year was actually the first time I had been back to Japan. Man I wish I would have kept studying Japanese, I just started again this last year.

No. I went to kinkakuji when I was there 10 years ago. I don't remember going to himeji castle then though. We didn't go this time.

We wanted to go to ginkakuji this time, but it was under construction so we went to nijo-jo (kyoto castle) instead, which was great, probably better.
